Lost and Found: The Compassion of Christ – S3E16

0s · Published 05 Oct 19:01
To begin with, the question on the table is, "Have you ever felt completely lost in life?" In other words, no matter how hard you tried you still couldn't seem to find your way. When you think about it – did anyone show you any compassion? Hence this podcast episode – Lost and Found: The Compassion of Christ.  In general, most people have experienced a sense of helplessness at some point, even if they don't admit it. No doubt, some of you may be feeling lost this very moment. To continue, others feel like they are a lost cause. But, I'm here to tell you – that is not true. In fact, you are valuable!  As we can see, Luke 12:7 Easy-to-Read Version says, “{Yes, God even knows how many hairs you have on your head. Don’t be afraid. You are worth much more than many birds.”  Are you compassionate?  Broadly speaking, most people have a level of compassion towards others. Whereas others do not have a compassionate bone in their bodies. Have you ever been insensitive or coldhearted towards a person or group of people? If so, then there is a lack of compassion for that person or group of people.  Now Jesus of Nazareth, He had compassion like no other. In fact, He is the perfect example of what compassion looks like in practice. And we see several examples in Luke chapter 15. When He saw a need, He met the need. So, why is Jesus' compassion like no other?   A compassion like no other  No, I'm not leaving you hanging. The answer to the question of "Why is Jesus' compassion like no other?" Well, here it is in a nutshell. First, He saw people as valuable and He met their needs. Those who are lost are found in His presence.   Next and most important, He gave His life so that the world through Him would be saved. Of course, that in itself is why I said most people have a level of compassion. Because if we are being honest, not too many people would be willing to help people who are lost for whatever reason. Hence, they certainly wouldn’t die for anyone.  They may say it because it sounds commendable. But if it came right down to it, they wouldn't actually do it. Again, that is why the compassion of Jesus is like no other.  Conclusion  In closing, go ahead and use the player at the top of this blog post. Heart of Compassion – S3-DE16

0s · Published 05 Oct 19:00
Lady V’s Devotional Episode    Luke 19:1-10 (TLB) The Living Bible says;  1-2 As Jesus was passing through Jericho, a man named Zacchaeus, one of the most influential Jews in the Roman tax-collecting business (and, of course, a very rich man), 3 tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowds. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed into a sycamore tree beside the road, to watch from there.  5 When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name! “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick! Come down! For I am going to be a guest in your home today!” 6 Zacchaeus hurriedly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7 But the crowds were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.  8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “Sir, from now on I will give half my wealth to the poor, and if I find I have overcharged anyone on his taxes, I will penalize myself by giving him back four times as much!”  9-10 Jesus told him, “This shows that salvation has come to this home today. This man was one of the lost sons of Abraham, and I, the Messiah, have come to search for and to save such souls as his.”  Luke 19:1-10 TLB  Devotional  Are you lost? Do you feel invisible? Have you ever wondered if your life matters to God? Well—IT DOES! And like Zacchaeus, HE KNOWS YOUR NAME! Zacchaeus was trying to get a glimpse of Jesus, trying to get noticed. He didn’t realize Jesus had already noticed him.  Although it may not seem like it, God notices you too. So much so, God knows the number of hairs on your head—which is proof that He’s paying attention. He has a compassionate love for you!  The Lord sees you even when you feel invisible. And while Jesus knows everything about you; He still loves you with a heart of compassion. He knows your value!  Jesus has a heart of compassion for every person that has ever been created. And although we get caught up in our mistakes thinking it defines us—it really doesn’t.  In actuality, when you seek Jesus with a heart of repentance—He’s there to forgive by His grace. That’s what salvation is about. Jesus wants to save the lost souls and bring them to new life in Him. Jesus wants to transform lives!  And even when you’ve already received salvation through Jesus—it doesn’t stop there. Every day is a process of Him saving us from ourselves. We’re all a work in progress.  And when we recognize that God loves us, we will see His heart of compassion. He searches for the ones He loves to get us back on track and in His plan.  Beloved, God loves you! Don’t ever think that you go unnoticed or that your life is not valuable. God knows who you are and His love for you never changes. He has a heart of compassion for you!  Let’s Pray…  Heavenly Father,  We come to you in the Name of Jesus, to thank you for loving us so much that you sent your Son to save us. Father God, we thank you that your Word reminds us in Romans 8:38 that nothing can ever separate us from YOUR love. And that your love is revealed in Jesus our Lord. We pray that every day you will remind us of this promise so that we will never forget, just how much you value us in YOUR heart. We thank you for every blessing and every favor in Christ released unto us. In Jesus' name, we pray…Amen, Amen, Amen  Have faith in Jesus!  Grace and Peace to you all! A Letter to the Church – S3E15

0s · Published 21 Sep 18:02
Most Christian scholars refer to The Book of James in the Holy Bible as ‘A Letter to the Church.’ Why? Because James, a brother of Jesus, sent letters to Jewish believers throughout the Roman empire. And those letters included some of his best teachings.  In other words, the believers of that time respected him. In addition, they appreciated his advice and his wise decision-making skills.  Although the title of this episode is 'A Letter to the Church,' everyone will benefit from the wisdom of James.  Love your neighbor as yourself  Now, the focus of this post is James 2:1-9. So, let's look at it in the New Internation Version. It reads as follows:  “My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in.   3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?  5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?  7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong? 8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.”  Conclusion  As you can see, James was clear about how the church was to treat themselves and others. Thus, Christians should not be judgmental, angry, hateful, or discriminating towards anybody.  Henceforth, don’t give opportunity for others to judge Jesus based upon a negative interaction with you. Instead, when people leave your presence, they should have experienced nothing less than the love of God.   In closing, go ahead and use the player at the top of this blog post. Love Reveals GOD — S3-DE15

0s · Published 21 Sep 18:01
Lady V’s Devotional Episode    1 John 4:7-10 (MSG) says;  7-10 My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.  1 John 4:7-10 (MSG)  Devotional   When you look around, watch the nightly news, walk into a department store during the Christmas holidays—what do you see? You find everything but love among people. Why do you think that is? Does ANYONE know God?   I realized the problem—People that don’t love others can’t know Jesus as LORD. Thus, they don’t know God!  The renewing of your mind begins with faith in Jesus, and time in HIS Word to learn what love is. And it takes learning about Jesus to see what LOVE looks like.   Truth is—the excellence of LOVE reveals GOD.  The sacrifice that Jesus made on the Cross for the sins of the world was unselfish, enduring love. This love was kind, thoughtful, truthful, and full of grace.   Jesus didn’t let someone’s race, financial status, or a political party decide whether He would go on the Cross for them. NO! JESUS let love guide the decisions He made. And we too must let love guide us.   We must learn how to love others as God has loved us.  Besides, race, political status, financial status, etc. doesn’t matter in eternity. Love does! And, let’s not forget—this earth is NOT our eternal home. Jesus said he would go and prepare a place for us. That special place is most certainly immersed in LOVE .  Beloved, it’s time for us, the church, to start revealing God to the world through love. It shouldn’t be too hard if we know God—right?  So today, let our hearts show love and stop ignoring WHOSE we are. Let’s start being the SONS and DAUGHTERS of God that the world’s been waiting to meet!  So remember—Love is patient and Love is kind! Let’s love our neighbors and each other. Let us REVEAL GOD through LOVE!  And if you need help in your love walk—start spending more time in God’s Word. Allow our HELPER, the Holy Spirit, to teach us how to love—God’s Way!  Let’s Pray…  Abba Father,   Thank you for all that you have done for us. Thank you for showing us your love by sending Jesus to bring Salvation to the world for all that would have faith in HIM.  Lord God, we want to love like YOU! We know that we cannot do this without your help. Loving others is difficult sometimes. Help us in areas of weakness where we are lacking in our love walk.  Father, remind us that YOU are LOVE and if we say we know Jesus, our heart should reveal that LOVE in the way we treat others.   Help us to remember that our relationship with Jesus as Savior and Lord began with faith, love, and grace. Help us to love our neighbors as ourselves, as we walk in faith, love, and grace.  We need the world to see that as your children, we are set apart by love. Reveal your love through us as we encounter others. Father God, draw us closer to you and your Word; and let it be so that when we say we know you God; that it be the truth and not a lie. Help us to walk in love as your presence RESTS, REIGNS, RULES, and ABIDES in our daily walk, in Jesus’ great name we pray, Amen, Amen, Amen!  Grace and Peace to you! Have faith in Jesus!   And remember that—Jesus Is LORD!!!  Lady V  {Prayer Scriptures: John 15:12, 1 John 4:12, Mark 12:30-31, 1 John 4:16}  Bible Study Resources  Holy Bible [NKJV, NLT, Amplified, TPT, MEV, ESV] Get the Bible App by YouVersion NLT Chronological Life Applic...

Grace – God’s Generosity – S3E14

27m · Published 31 Aug 17:09
In general, if you ask some people the meaning of the word 'grace' they may say it is the prayer offered at a meal. Whereas for others 'grace' is the period of time between a bill due date and final notice. Although grace has several definitions, for this post, I am talking about the grace of God. Hence, the title of this podcast episode; Grace--God's Generosity.  God’s Grace is a generous gift  In addition, grace also means favor or goodwill. Of course, there is some favor and goodwill in the world but it pales in comparison to God's grace.  "But what makes God's grace superior?" That's a good question. And Proverbs 4:7 New King James Version says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding."  So, ladies and gentlemen let's get some understanding. Simply put, there is nothing anyone can do to earn God’s grace. Because His grace/favor is undeserved and unending. Thus, it is a free gift.  God’s Grace is sufficient  Another significant fact to know is God’s grace is always more than enough. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Amplified it says, “but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.”  Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”  Just receive—grace God’s generosity  It is true, grace--God's generosity is available to all who will receive. It comes through His son Jesus Christ the person of grace. In other words, upon receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, one receives grace, a gift that came at a great cost. You see, grace is a part of the salvation package. Also, included in this divine package are forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life.  In Closing  Now, would you like to know more about God’s grace and generosity? ALL YOU NEED — S3-DE14

7m · Published 31 Aug 17:06
Lady V’s Devotional Episode  Ephesians 1:7-10 (TPT) says;  Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace.   This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing all forms of wisdom and practical understanding.   And through the revelation of the Anointed One, he unveiled his secret desires to us—the hidden mystery of his long-range plan, which he was delighted to implement from the very beginning of time.   And because of God’s unfailing purpose, this detailed plan will reign supreme through every period of time until the fulfillment of all the ages finally reaches its climax—when God makes all things new in all of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 1:7-10 (TPT)  Devotional   Salvation—New Life through Jesus Christ, comes with a grace gift that has ALL YOU NEED. The truth is this immeasurable grace gift begins with Jesus because He is grace personified. Grace and truth came through Him.  John chapter 1 verse 14 (AMPC) says, “And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacle (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth”.  Salvation was just the beginning when Jesus came on the scene as the Savior of the world.  This well-thought-out plan of God supplies ALL YOU NEED through His grace.   You see, the grace of God is an expression of His love showered upon us through His Son, Jesus. God’s grace showed up, to give new life to all that would receive it. There are no limits!  No longer are we powerless against sin. Grace provides the help that we need for any situation. It is through grace that we find that God is our supply. He is ALL WE NEED!  God’s grace overflows as it saturates our lives. His expressed loving-kindness, unmerited favor, and abundant provision describe HIS grace.   When we acknowledge that we need Jesus as Lord and Savior, we receive an inheritance of overflowing grace. Not only does grace reveal who God IS, but grace also reveals His love through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Beloved, if we would just depend on HIM daily—by His grace we will realize that we have ALL WE NEED!  Let’s pray…  Abba Father,   We thank you for loving us so much that you saw fit to make a plan of Salvation through Jesus. Thank you for sending your Son to die on the Cross for our sins, so that we would have a stairway to you through the shedding of His blood. Thank you that your love pours out through Jesus in more ways than we will ever know. Thank you for forgiving our sins when we believed in Jesus and what He did for us by His grace. Thank you that your grace supplies because YOU are ALL WE NEED! You are our redemption, you are our resurrection, and you are our ALL-and-ALL.   Father God, I pray that we will be mindful to live our lives to honor the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross for us. Help us through your abundant grace to live righteously until His return. And help us to love each other with unending grace.   As you are LOVE, help us to walk in love by your grace. In Jesus’ great name we pray, Amen, Amen, and Amen again!  Grace and Peace to you! Have faith in Jesus!   And remember that—Jesus Is LORD!!!  {Prayer Scriptures: John 3:16 (NLT), John 1:51 (NLT), Ephesians 1:7 (ESV), 1 John 4:19 (NIV), Mark 12:30-31(NIV)}  Lady V  Bible Study Resources  Holy Bible [NKJV, NLT, Amplified, TPT, MEV, ESV] Get the Bible App by YouVersion NLT Chronological Life Application Study Bible  More devotionals you may like   Set Free for a New Start    JESUS is the Faithful Love   Rest in the Secret Place of GOD   Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast with SD and Lady V

United with Jesus — S3-DE13

8m · Published 17 Aug 18:01
Lady V’s Devotional Episode  Ephesians 2:4-7 (NLT) says;  But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.  So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 2:4-7 (NLT)  Devotional  When we were born, we didn’t get to choose what family we were born into. Some were born into loving families, while others were not. Some were abandoned, while others were received as cherished gifts.   Even so, one thing every family has in common is that we all have sinned and fallen short. And sin causes destruction in our lives.  But look at how good God is—  God, in all His mercy and grace, foreknew that none of us were perfect thus, we ALL needed a SAVIOR!   You see, our imperfections didn’t stop God from loving us and wanting us to belong in HIS eternal family. He didn’t want us separated from Him. He wanted us closer.  God devised a plan of salvation that would cleanse us of our sin, unite us to Him forever through His Son, Jesus, and place us in the Family of God. Now that’s love!  John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.(NLT)”  Salvation is a free gift. Only believe! Jesus IS the SAVIOR and there is none like HIM! Only believe!  God has offered us Salvation and a family with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Without a doubt, no one will be abandoned. In fact, everyone that believes in Him is forgiven, and we are unconditionally loved by God. WE are cherished and united with Christ forever!  His grace and mercy abound in our lives, and His love heals every wound. We didn’t deserve to be in the family of God, we couldn’t earn salvation, and we can’t work off our sin debt, nor pay our way in. Jesus paid the cost for our sins on the Cross! There is only one way to be saved. Salvation comes through Jesus ONLY!  Although many may not accept the call to salvation, many have already received Jesus. We were drawn, called, and chosen.  Thus anyone that has received the gracious gift of salvation through Jesus chose to be united with Him. We are seated with Him as a joint heir in the heavenly realms.  Our identity now says, “I belong to Jesus!” No longer are we living as slaves to our sinful nature. Now, we are alive with Jesus Christ. We are united with Jesus! We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus! It is a gift from God! That’s LOVE!  Beloved, you, me, WE are cherished by God. God loves us! So when life gets tough, remember who you are IN CHRIST! We are a part of a heavenly family in which we are united with KING JESUS!  WE are not alone!  We were saved by His grace and we are ONE with Christ Jesus!   So as we witness the gospel of Jesus to other generations, let’s sow a seed of God’s love and kindness. Let’s reveal grace—for grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17, ASV)  Let’s Pray…  Father God,   Thank you for loving us! We give you all the glory, all honor and all the praise. YOU are all we’ve ever needed. You are our supply! Thank you for seeing that we needed a Savior. Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to take our place and die for our sins.   Thank you that when YOU raised Jesus from the dead, you raised us with Him. And now, because we believe in Jesus, we are united with Jesus! Thank you that someday soon we will see Jesus coming on a cloud in glory. Our KING will arrive! Hallelujah!  Father God, until that glorious day of the LORD comes, we’ll be looking up for Jesus.

Have You Received Your Gift? — S3E13

49m · Published 17 Aug 18:00
The question for today is “Have you received your gift?” If you are wondering, "What gift?" I’m so glad you asked. The gift I am referring to is the most expensive gift you could ever receive because it came at a great cost.  In fact, God has made available the most precious gift to all who will receive it. The gift I am referring to is His Grace and salvation through Jesus Christ. So, I ask again, have you received your gift?  Why do I need Jesus?  You may be someone who does not believe in God, Jesus, heaven, or hell. Thus, you may be thinking, “Why do I need your Jesus?” First, let me be clear, we ALL need Jesus Christ--everybody. No one is left out of ALL.  Now, take a moment and examine your life. I am sure there is a space that you are trying to fill with something [money, sex, alcohol, drugs, food, etc.]. But no matter what you do to fill the emptiness— that space is never filled.  Why? Because that space is only meant for God alone. Therefore, when one receives Jesus as Lord, the spirit of the living God fills that space with His love.  Second, believe it or not — this world as we know it is fast coming to an end. When we look at the state of the world today, we can see that some people have given in to evil thoughts and intentions.  Consequently, that is a direct result of sin. The Holy Bible warns us that those are signs of the end-times leading up to the destruction of the world. Again, we ALL need Jesus who is the Savior.   John 17:3 New Living Translation says, “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.”  Adam caused sin and death – Jesus provides Grace and eternal life  You see, sin came into the world when Adam disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  Romans 5:12 New Living Translation says, “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”   More specifically, this answers the question of why we need Jesus. He became the final sacrifice for our sin. Henceforth, it is only through Jesus Christ that one can be saved.  I like how Romans 5:15-16 The Passion Translation explains it, “Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime.  It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us!  And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!”  But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!””  Jesus is coming back  So, for whatever reason, you haven’t received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior—I need you to hear me. No matter who you are or what you have done God's love and His grace are readily available to all who would JUST RECEIVE.  Know this, God cares about you. And He loves you regardless of what anybody else says -- JUST RECEIVE; that's it.   Jesus is coming back!!! Trust me, you want to be among those who He is coming back to take with Him. You do not want to be left behind during the chaos and destruction of this world.  Therefore, this is the time to receive your gift. That is to say, proclaim Jesus as Lord while there is still breath in your lungs.    Philippians 2:10-11 The Passion Translation says,  “10 The authority of the name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in reverence! Everything and everyone will one day submit to this name—in the heavenly realm, in the earthly realm, and in the demonic realm.

Grace to Overcome – S3E12

40m · Published 15 Jun 20:24
First and foremost, there is a grace to overcome the difficult times in life. Thus, before going any further, let's look at two definitions of grace. 1) grace is a manifestation of favor, especially by a superior, and 2) to favor or honor.   Of course, as a Christian, I am talking about the grace of God. You see, God's grace is not earned. In fact, God gives His grace because He loves us. As a result, has made ‘grace to overcome’ readily available through His son Jesus Christ. You might ask, “But, what does Jesus have to do with grace to overcome?” Well, I am glad you want to know.  John 1:16-17 Good News Translation says, “16 Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another. 17 God gave the Law through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”  Grace and truth through Jesus — Grace to Overcome   To put it simply, Jesus Christ is the person of grace. And when one receives Him as Lord and Savior, God’s grace is a guarantee. Ephesians 2:8 English Standard Version says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God...”  In the definitions mentioned earlier, grace also means favor. Therefore, When you accept His Son, God’s grace is the foundation on which the salvation package stands. Know this, God always honors His word. 2 Corinthians 1:20 New Living Translation says, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”  Psalm 5:12 New King James Version says, “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.”   God’s grace is the Grace to Overcome  Now let me be very clear, God's grace is the only grace that will help you truly overcome life’s struggles. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Modern English Version says, “9 But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.””  So, no matter the problem, just trust God's grace to overcome it. You know what 'it' is [addiction, depression, illness, finances, relationships, etc.].   Conclusion  In closing, if you feel as if you can’t make it over the hurdles of life, then this podcast episode is for you.
