Finale (ft. Alexia Datario)

1h 56m · Published 13 Dec 07:59

Today, I had the Korean Cultural Club's President for 2022, Alexia Datario, on my podcast. We take a trip down memory lane and discuss our pasts, the performance from each of us this year as the President and her one of the Heads of Dance, and we speculate about the ideas, goals, and observations with regard to 2022 for KCC. An episode for the ages, I imparted knowledge, and I even learned a lot myself during this session. Handing over my role as President to her is bittersweet, but I cannot imagine the power in anyone's hands other than Alexia's, the paragon President of KCC.

Thank you to everyone for your support, and welcome to the finale of Season 1 of What Does It Take.

The Nature of Humankind (ft. Zachery Chan)

1h 37m · Published 23 Nov 09:08

This goes down as one of the greatest episodes of 'What Does It Take' so far. We really did question what it takes to get over the line mentally with regards to any ambitions or endeavours in life, and I really think this is one of my podcast episodes for the ages. I invited Zachery Chan, the 2022 President of Asian Students In Australia on to the podcast today to have a chat and digression about everything to do with his goals and vision for ASIA to the meaning of being a President.

Where Is This "Easy"? (ft. Jessica Ramos)

1h 16m · Published 18 Nov 10:39

Jessica Ramos, the newly elected President of Multicultural Students Union for 2022 has a lot to say about her goals and what she wants to achieve with MSU this incoming year. With MSU’s notoriously critical IGM process, we also discuss how elections for positions work with MSU, and compare it with KCC’s infrastructure. This episode’s special random question was also definitely one of my all time favourites.

P.S. I forgot to take our photo together so I Messenger video called her while I was at Geláre lmao

Will Gunners Stay? (ft. Danial Hairul-Annuar)

1h 11m · Published 13 Nov 09:39

As I began to move the chairs together to sit together for the cover photo, he said: "Since we talked about muzzing and hakking, why not do the classic LB pose instead?", and I couldn't have agreed more.

The next, new president of Chinese Society, Danial Hairul-Annuar, is a guest unlike anyone I've ever had on this podcast. After a couple of DMs, Danial and I sit down together, meeting each other for the very first time, talking as one President to another, one of the only differences being time. As my time as an executive comes to a close in under 9 days, Danial provides a fresh perspective of someone coming into the job for the very first time, and we give a shot at tackling concepts I've always wanted to talk about with a new President. We talk about how important the connection with your Immediate Past President and past team is, his plans to ensure the continuity of the success CS has had this year, and we discuss a very important topic at the tail end of this episode.

F Major Is Calm (ft. Karen Matoba)

1h 14m · Published 23 Oct 10:17

I finally get the opportunity to record an episode with the President of Multicultural Students Union, Karen Matoba. This is one of my most interesting episodes as I discuss a continuing controversial issue within my own committee, how difficult or easy Karen found presidency, and we also have a retrospective evaluation of how Karen went during her term, as she's now the Immediate Past President.

P.S. Big apologies Karen for the photo as it's our only picture together, at CS Presents: Kaleidoscopic Dream LOL

AGM in Shambles (ft. Albert Lam)

1h 25m · Published 18 Oct 15:55

After hours and hours of past podcasts alluding to the presence of a very special someone, I finally invite the legendary, critically acclaimed Albert Lam onto my podcast to speak about his favourite colour.

Spreadsheets? Nah I don't wanna see that (ft. Franklin Ngo)

1h 20m · Published 13 Oct 07:11

Hey listeners! Fortunately I was able to nab another Presidential figure from a club we absolutely love to work with, ASIA's dashing President Franklin Ngo! Some of the bigger things we talk about are: How do you be an alpha, Should we add more clubs to our interclub system, and How does dating another President affect your emotional state? Enjoy!

4 Pillars... Or 3? (ft. Yuwen Chng)

1h 10m · Published 13 Oct 06:46

This episode, I have a chat with Yuwen Chng, who is the Secretary of the Curtin Occupational Therapists Association. She's tackled a lot of different challenges within her club, especially with 2021 being COTA's first established year, and many people within her club not realising the work ethic club members need for it to function. We talk about differences between socio-cultural clubs versus academic clubs like hers, being a secretary, how her club helps people studying OT, and what OTs really do!

The Tiger and The Pigeon (ft. Ben Roshkov)

1h 31m · Published 11 Sep 20:33

Chinese Society and the Korean Cultural Club share a lot of history and organisation with each other. In this episode, Ben (Chinese Society's President) and I talk about similarities, differences, stereotypes, and what we want our clubs to achieve in the future.

AGM SZN (ft. Claudia Goh)

1h 22m · Published 06 Sep 09:47

Claudia Goh, the President of Japanese Studies Society and I discuss about what it takes to be an Office Bearer, a President, a regular committee member, and everything in between.
