It has been developed to shine a positive light on the impact that technology can have to enable leaders to effectively fulfill their role and encourage more leaders to adopt an appropriate technology enabled style of leadership.
Serving as a reminder to acknowledge the contribution of women educators within a tech driven world, the group encourages current and future women leaders to realise their potential to lead and stand on the shoulders of giants.
Our mission is to build connections and up skill educators, create new opportunities in educational technology and build connections that can lead to established relationships and better schools.
We aim to create an empowered community united on a local and national and digital level and to increase the capacity of women in technology through means of inclusivity, visibility and impact.
WELCOME TO THE #WOMENED PODCASTING PLATFORM
3m · PublishedHello everyone and a very big welcome to the womened podcasting Platform
Who are we? Started in 2015 with the aim to connect women leaders on twitter. We are Known as #WomenEd - it is a global grassroots movement which connects aspiring and existing women leaders in education and gives women leaders a voice in education.
Why do we exist? Well, even though women dominate the workforce across all sectors of education, there are still gender and racial inequalities in terms of the numbers of women in senior leadership, the large gender pay gap and the number of women who want to stay in education yet whose requests for flexible working are not met.
What is our mission? It is for more women in education to have the choice to progress on their leadership journey. To achieve this, #WomenEd works to remove systemic and organisational barriers to such progress and to empower and enable women to achieve their next leadership step if they choose to progress in leadership roles.
