Are you ready to die?

1h 1m · Published 01 May 06:28

There's no sugarcoating this one...in today's episode, we're talking about 'death'.

Before you switch off your sets, let us (Josh & Has) explain...it's a taboo subject that people are afraid to talk about. We dig into why that is, as well as our personal views on life, mortality and death.

We discuss regrets, how the best time is now and how to tell important people that we love them.

We might say this often, but we think this could be one of our best discussions yet!

Death ain't an easy topic to discuss or think about...it's about to get uncomfortable.

Russ Cook is super human, but can you be?

1h 4m · Published 17 Apr 08:04

On this episode, we dive into superhuman feats and whether we can all do them, or the exceptional few that are born with special powers. We discussed, Russ Cook, who recently ran the length of Africa in 352 days. Nicknamed 'Hardest geezer', he had several moments during the journey where mere mortals would have turned around and gone home, but he pushed through and 'ground' it out.

In our conversation, we ask if society no longer favours discomfort, hard work or the 'hustle'. It's a tricky, nuanced discussion that sees us get tangled up with each other a few times.

We hope you're sitting comfortably...this one is about to get about to get uncomfortable!

Do bullies really do better in life?

1h 0m · Published 03 Apr 07:58

In this episode, we (Has &Josh) dive into a recent published study that suggested that playground bullies are more likely to be successful in later life. The study, which began from 1970 through to 2016, tracked 7000 individuals and points to some interesting findings about aggression in younger years positively impacting opportunities and success in later years. As usual, we dissect the study and put our own take on it.

We then explored the recent furore over the Nike design on the England Men's football shirt - a healthy debate where we ended up quite surprised by our point of view by the end of the discussion.

Some meaty topics that will make you explore deeply within yourself ...we hope you're sitting comfortably....

Special episode: Our big announcements!

59m · Published 20 Mar 08:49

Ok...this is a special one for us. In this episode, we (Josh & Has) dig into our secret projects that we've been alluding to on the podcast for the last year.

Has talks about his new manager platform that he's launching today, tyllr, and what makes it so different from everything else out there.

And although Josh's book, "It's Them, Not You", isn't quite a secret anymore, we talk about why it's so important and the impact we believe it will have in the world.

We think of our listeners as friends, so we hope you'll enjoy hearing about our missions outside of 115 miles.

Are you an ethical person?

54m · Published 06 Mar 07:37

In today's episode, we (Has & Josh) talk all about ethics and moral dilemmas.

We’re at a foul point in our global history - there is an incredible amount of division, war, genocide, poverty, individualism and state oppression in the world.

As humans/citizens, we are being forced into choices and dilemmas in a way unlike in our living memory - so we're asking some big questions in today's episode.

We dive into the upcoming general election and our beloved NHS in the UK...it get's pretty punchy at one point!

We hope you're sitting comfortably...

Are you doing the shadow work?

58m · Published 21 Feb 13:00

Welcome to the second part of our conversation on shadows.

We start by digging into our emotions using the 'emotions wheel' before doing our usual lighthearted trip into our unique and often polarised views on life.

We (Josh & Has) then go deeper into exploring our shadow sides, diving into the what they are and some of the work that is needed to begin to tackle them.

This leads us into the topic of the Collective Shadow - the notion of our societal dark sides.

Such a big topic that we almost ran out of time on again...it's definitely one we'll revisit.

Hope you're sitting comfortably...

What hides in your shadows?

56m · Published 07 Feb 07:52

We all have parts of ourselves that we don't like and try to keep hidden - these are called our 'shadow sides' and in today's episode, we (Has & Josh) dig into it.

In the conversation, we uncover what the term shadow side means and we explore where it might begin in our lives.

We talk about our own shadow sides and give a perspective on what we think each other's shadows (blind spots) are.

This is Part 1 of a 2 part conversation, where next time we'll dig further into it and explore the concept of Collective Shadow - the effect of people's shadows combining.

We hope you're sitting comfortably...it's about to get uncomfortable.

Do you worry about your body image?

58m · Published 24 Jan 07:12

In this episode we (Josh Connolly & Hasan Khair) get into body image.

Research suggests that girls are more likely to be dissatisfied with their appearance and their weight than boys. In a recent survey, 46% of girls reported that their body image causes them to worry 'often' or 'always', compared to 25% of boys.

We discuss the increasing pressures on boys and girls both, but particularly around whether we believe the stat around boys is entirely accurate.

We explore our own journeys around body image and whether we would go under the knife to preserve our youth!

As always, a bit of fun around the big topics, but as we hope you now come to expect from us, lots of vulnerability and candour in this one too.

Is Dry January worth it?

57m · Published 10 Jan 08:24

Welcome back to our first episode of 2024! In this episode, we (Hasan Khair & Josh Connolly) reflect on our big years ahead before diving into the controversy that engulfed our content from the last episode around Joey Barton.

We explore what happens when you unwittingly get pulled outside of your echo chamber and get exposed to the darker side of internet communities.

From there, we move into Dry January and delve into the practice of abstinence from alchohol. We discuss its value and the inevitable correlation to the wider conversations around addiction and overconsumption.

It's good to be back in the studio!
