Who are your top 5 bands of all time?

57m · Published 13 Dec 08:38

Welcome to our Christmas 2023 special!

It's been a big year and we reflect on the biggest things for us - both positive and negative.

Then we move full force into Xmas cheer - dad jokes for the cracker, and the most important discussion of all time, who are top 5 greatest bands of all time are.

Expect sparks to fly on this one!

What are you scared of?

1h 1m · Published 29 Nov 08:51

In this episode, we're talking about the fears we carry.

We first lightheartedly explore the UK's top 10 most feared things and some very weird ones (clusters of holes, anyone?) before diving into our own personal fears and why they show up.

We discuss ways we can begin to overcome our fears too.

It's scary stuff - we hope you're sitting comfortably!

Are you seen & heard?

57m · Published 15 Nov 07:01

With International Men's Day 2023 approaching, we go deep on the topic of men, feelings, talking and support.

The theme for this year is Zero Male Suicide. We discuss what leads to 1 in 4 men taking their own lives in the UK and explore some of the complexities of talking about male issues in the context of their privilege in the world as it relates to women.

It's a raw conversation and one we expect might garner different opinions from our listeners.

We hope you're sitting comfortably...because it's about to get uncomfortable.

Are you lonely?

58m · Published 01 Nov 08:30

Today, we talk about deep friendships and loneliness.

We are in an epidemic.

1 in 4 people in the UK are affected by loneliness.

According to some reports, the impact on loneliness on people is like smoking 15 cigarettes a day and increases overall risk of death by 26%.

The total number of people in the UK who say they “often” or “always” feel lonely increasedfrom 2.6 million people in 2020 to 3.3 million people in 2022.

In the conversation, we explore our own friendship origins and how we have come to support each other. And then we go deep on the loneliness topic.

Today is raw, vulnerable and challenging...hope you're sitting comfortably.

What will you ask us?

57m · Published 18 Oct 08:18

We've put together a special episode of 115miles where we let our followers ask the questions.

No limits, nothing off the table.

We had some deep and meaningful ones

And some straight up weird ones.

You might learn more about us than we were ready to share...like what Josh does in the shower that Has doesn't... 👀

Lots of laughs and banter along the way.

We like this format and hope you do too...you know the drill...sit yourself down comfortably because it's about to get uncomfortable.

Do you enjoy other’s misery?

51m · Published 04 Oct 07:07

With the Tory party seemingly on the brink of a calamitous election defeat, Has began by saying how much joy and glee he was taking from the situation and the potential demise of some of he sinister players in the party.

This led us to the topic of'schadenfreude', which is the pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.

We explore josh's views on who he likes to see fail and more widely, what it says about us as a society to want to see 'certain' people fail.

Lots of humour and lightness around in today's episode, including the some awkward questions like "what do you do when it's only you at home alone"?

As usual, we hope you're sitting comfortably because...it's about to get uncomfortable.

Are you an ally or a hypocrite?

54m · Published 20 Sep 07:58

And we're back with a bang! After a little summer break, we're diving in where we left off - tackling the hard questions that people often find difficult to answer.

In this episode, we discuss 'Allyship' through exploring Jordan Henderson's move to Saudi Arabia.

Henderson's move is particularly contentious because he has been a vocal ally of the LGBTQA+ community and this was seen as a moment of allyship trumped by personal interests.

We explore the conversation, allyship in general and put ourselves in the hot seat of what we'd do in a similar situation - let's just say, it's not easy!

We hope you're sitting comfortably because it's about to get uncomfortable....

Do you need to be healed? (Co-Host Sessions)

59m · Published 26 Jul 07:52

We're super excited for you to hear this one as we're joined for our Co-Host session by Jess Frost and Nick Edgar of 3E Space.

In this episode, we talk about Healing.

'Healing work' often is associated with woo-woo people or spiritually inclined folks, and is therefore probably misunderstood. We wanted to lift the 'hood' on it today by exploring some things together.

  • Why do people even need to be healed?
  • What if someone doesn't feel there's anything wrong with them, or that they're broken?

We also cover why Josh first started Inner You, and the power of community in healing.

Jess & NIck are deeply experienced in providing transformational coaching and holistic wellbeing, helping their clients navigate some incredible challenges and life opportunities.  Please look them up at https://www.the3espace.com/

We loved having this conversation and hope you enjoy the listen!

Do you have any regrets in life?

50m · Published 12 Jul 06:57

Not gonna lie, but this episode is a banger!

In the emotional check in - we dive into personal growth and the importance of having a safe and trustworthy community around you.

We explore regrets - should we have them and is there any value that comes from exploring our past journeys or mistakes?

Life throws us all many big questions daily and we took time to dig into some of them - exposing the uncomfortable truths and misconceptions along the way.

Hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as we did recording it...

Why don’t you care about racism? (Co-Host Sessions)

1h 10m · Published 28 Jun 07:10

This is undoubtedly one of our most powerful conversations on 115 Miles.

We hope you're sitting comfortably...and we know we always say this, but...it's about to get uncomfortable.

We are joined by our good friend and CEO of Power The Fight, Ben Lindsay, to have a deep discussion about race, racism and our relationship with it in the UK.

Our conversation responded to the news in the last few days about the naming of another suspect in the murder of Stephen Lawrence and of yet another tragic death of a child yards away from the charity's office.

We explore the heaviness and trauma that communities feel in these moments, why the media paints it as a black people only problem (and why it's definitely not) and we confront our own conscious and unconscious prejudices as a white majority society.

Ben brings knowledge, wisdom and grace having been doing this work for over two decades and we were privileged and honoured to have him join us as our co-host.

Ben is CEO of Power The Fight, a charity dedicated to empowering communities to end youth violence. He is also a keynote speaker, published author of a best selling book, as well as currently doing his PHD at Durham University.

Find out more about Ben and the team's incredible work at www.powerthefight.org.uk.
