We are back for a couple of episodes! We've missed you all so much. In our much delayed ep, Kristin discusses the abduction and murder of 7 year old Jaclyn Dowaliby. Did her parents do it? Or were police going down the wrong path? Amy’s case this week takes us behind the walls and into a crawl space in Townsend Massachusetts, where we learn about the weird and creepy story surrounding a troubled teen named Daniel LaPlante who is currently serving three consecutive life sentences for murder, murder with no motive.

Hey She Sleuths fam! Today we shake things up a bit. Unfortunately, the coronavirus has disrupted our recording schedule, so we have to record separately for a bit. However, that also means you'll be getting a new episode every week!

In this episode, Kristin discussed her case. In the 1990's, black women were being strangled to death in the Charlotte, NC area. It took some time for police to put things together and realize that a serial killer was at work - a man named Henry Louis Wallace. Listen to this ep for all the details. In this ep, we’re back with two cases that will make you feel extra sleuthy…because they’re both unsolved! That’s right. Today we’re covering cold cases. 

You ever hear of the Crewe murders in 1970? Us either until Kristin told us all about it. Jeanette and Harvey Crewe were married with a little girl named Rochelle. Their happy family life didn’t last long enough because the couple were murdered and the case is unsolved to this day. Of course we have a theory or two. 

This week Amy talks about the unsolved murder of Dorothy Jane Scott, a single mother with a loving family and supportive friends, but when a stalker starts following her every move, calling her with threats, and leaving dead flowers for gifts, Dorothy and her family become alarmed. In their 16th episode, Kristin and Amy discuss two true crime cases in the LGBTQ community.
First up, Amy discusses the heartbreaking case involving 36 year old, Guin “Richie” Phillips who lost his life because he was gay. He was found stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in the river by someone who he once called friend. Then Kristin covers the case of Brandon Teena, a transgender male from Nebraska whom the academy award winning movie “Boys Don’t Cry” was based on. Brandon’s transgender status was the main motivator for his murder by John Lotter and Tom Nissen. Tune into our show to learn more. about this horrendous hate crime.

In this ep, Kristin’s goes way back to the 1920’s where she tackles the case of infamous bootlegger turned murderer- George Remus. George was a guy who was both and lawyer and a pharmacist who used both skills to find a loophole in the Volstead Act. He ended up running one of the biggest bootlegging operations in the country. However, George had a weakness for his wife, Imogene, who he gave control over his finances and business operations. This backfired when George got arrested and Imogene decided to take George to the cleaners. As a result, George was mad… more than mad and this lead to a crime of passion. Learn more in this ep!

As for Amy, she covers a way more modern crime in this episode as she discusses a bizarre love triangle that began in a chatroom and ended in blood. When 46 year old Thomas Montgomery entered into a chatroom and met an 18 year old girl, he decided to go back in time and pretend to be an 18 year old as well. Things got intense, over a year went by, and Thomas’ wife found all about it and clued in his little e-girl on who he actually was. She then turns to comfort in Thomas’ co-worker, Brian, but goes back and forth with these men through emails and messages, until one day Thomas snaps. This story has all kinds of catfish in the chatrooms! Tune in and find out who is actually who!
