Episode 14: The Husband Did It

53m · Published 02 Dec 10:00

In this week's episode, we cover crimes committed by husbands. First up this week Amy talks about the marriage and the murder involving Rod Covlin, a deadbeat, and Shele Danishefsky, a millionaire. They got married within weeks of meeting each other and there was very little marital bliss happening in their home. Rod was a money hungry womanizer, and Shele was a hard working mother, but she could only put up with so much, so when she decided it was time to separate and file for divorce, Rod was having none of it. Her death was quickly ruled an accident, but a decade later he found himself in the courts trying to prove his innocence. Listen in this week, because it gets all kinds of weird. Kristin's case is about a modern day blue beard named Lowell "Ed" Amos who murdered 3 wives and his own mother. Did he face the consequences? Find out in today's ep!

Episode 12: Women Who Kill

54m · Published 18 Nov 11:00

In today's episode, we explore women who kill, so hold onto your stretchy pants. Things are about to get crazy!

First up is Kristin's case: In the early 1900’s, Louisiana and Texas was plagued by ax murders that swept across the states. Initially, a man named Raymond Barnabet was arrested for the murders, but while he was in jail more murders occurred. Police soon were hot on the trail of his 19-year-old daughter Clementine Barnabet. Was she working alone? Did she have accomplices? Clementine was sentenced to life in prison for the murders, but was eventually let go. The rest of her life was a mystery and so many questions still remain regarding the ax murders that wiped out entire African American families in the south at that time.

This week Amy dives into the case involving, then, 18 year old, Christa Pike, who was furious over the possibility that someone else might be interested in her boyfriend. Jealous and feeling mean, Christa invites this unsuspecting girl to join them to smoke some pot and make amends, except that was the last thing Christa was wanting to do. Instead she beat this helpless woman, Colleen Slemmer, to death, leaving her unrecognizable.

Episode 10: True Crime & Cults

1h 1m · Published 03 Nov 16:00

In this insane episode, Kristin & Amy discuss the cases of two cults with abusive leaders (and abusive doesn't even begin to describe their behavior).

First up, Amy explores the hell that was Tony Alamo, his wife Susan Alamo, and their apocalyptic cult, The Alamo Christian Foundation. What could possibly go wrong when a charismatic leader and their money hungry spouse start to prey on young hippies? Well, this episode has those answers!

Kristin breaks down the case of Roch Theriault and the Ant Hill Kids cult. This cult was led by Roch Theriault who was charismatic and intelligent, but also absolutely insane and abusive towards his followers. He told his followers that the apocalypse would happen soon, which prompted them to run off into the woods, so they could be saved. While out in the wilderness, Roch unleashed his insane behavior, which cost several followers their lives, including his own child. Roch was finally arrested and sentenced to life in prison. While in prison, he was shanked by a fellow inmate and died, and, after listening to our episode, you'll see how well deserved this ending for him.

Episode 7: True Crime On The Water

1h 10m · Published 14 Oct 12:00

Prepare to get wet this week as Amy & Kristin cover true crime cases that happen on the ocean.
Amy's case: After the happily married Thomas and Jackie Hawks lived a life of vacation for three years, they got news that inspired big changes in their lives. They were grandparents. The Hawkses decided it was time to dock their beloved yacht, the Well Deserved, just one last time. Shortly after placing an ad in a boating magazine, they found interest from a 25 year old with a family of his own, who was anything, but honest. The couple agreed to take him to sea trial the boat, and once on board, things quickly became problematic and the well loved couple would never been seen again.
Kristin's case: Jose Salvadore Alvarenga was a fisherman off the coast of Mexico. On November 2012, he and Ezequiel Cordoba, also nicknamed "pinata", left on Alvarenga's small fishing boat. Estimated to be out only 30 hours, friends and fellow fisherman became concerned when they did not return. We cover the harrowing story of one man surviving. Which was it? Tune in to find out!

Episode 6: WTF Florida - Florida True Crime Stories

47m · Published 08 Oct 14:00

In this episode, Kristin admits to being a fish murderer. Amy's hubby is finally back in town! And the girls discuss the crazy shit that happens in the state of Florida.  Amy's case talks about the Doogie Howser wannabe, Malachi 'Doctor Love' Robinson who from the age of 17 had been interested in the medical field and treating patients even without the proper licensing or education, but thanks to the internet and $29.99 later, he was able to fool and scam many people all up until he treated his last patient in 2017.  Kristin's case brings her down to sunny Miami, Florida, which was the cocaine capital in the 70's and 80's, and there was no one more infamous for trafficking that white powdery substance than Griselda Blanco. Griselda was an entrepreneur, but also a cold blooded murderer, and it's hypothesized she killed at least 40, if not over 200.
