35- Rock Your RECEIVING

51m · Published 26 Jul 13:00

RECEIVING. We can all have some unpacking to do when it comes to aloowing ourselves the space and openness to receive! Here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Let's Rock with Amy: I have been working on receiving all my life, but I have viewed myself as worthy of it only in how much I give, I think. I look at my love language, why we feel such angst over receiving, and a lot more this week. What if we get still and allow ourselves to receive? And how does receiving look in daily practice? I share mine, along with dating work I am doing, and lots more this week. Don't forget, too, to sign up for my newsletter and get my free 5-step habit building guide here, too!

2: Go Aff Yourself (17:23) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill is working on this, and I asked what that even means to her. She has had a hard time receiving and we explore why. We look at it from the feminine perspective, and whether we need to create space by getting rid of the things that aren’t working and taking up that space in which we could receive anything: love, opportunity, whatever is right for our lives. “I have concern about coming into this selfish space of receiving, because it is not what I am used to. But as I allow myself to do it, in the future, I think it will allow me to give more.” I talk about what I am learning in relationships about worthiness and receiving and my new approach in relationships. I bring up love languages and how strange I feel about my truth, how we need to look for this in places we wouldn’t, and then we give ourselves permission to receive this week with our Aff: I Give Myself Permission to Receive.

3: BYOBBB (33:16) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Certified Branding Consultant and Entrepreneur Bijou Finney: What does this look like in business when we are the ones who give and work? Bijou says being open to receive has been important to her in business a lot lately, and we explore the confidence and worthiness aspect of it in a brand and business context. Bijou has been flooded with ideas in business and more as she has meditated on receiving, and covers the work of Abraham Hicks as well. We can want to give too much in business and forget about the fact that we need to get OK with receiving. And is the moon trending? We dip into talk about the new moon which was this past week, and our intention setting rituals, mind movies, and we tell embarrassing stories about our inner thoughts. Listen for that and more! And don't forget, too, you can still access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

34- Rock Your (UN)PREPAREDNESS

51m · Published 12 Jul 13:12

UNPREPAREDNESS. Does the thought of being unprepared trigger anything in you? It does for me. Let's dive into that. Here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I confess that I was unprepared this week, and we look at how we truly are unprepared for the unpredictability and chaos that is life. But upon closer inspection, are we really as unprepared as we think we are? I really leaned on this week's affirmation and I came out with two realizations: one, we are always much more prepared than we may allow ourselves to realize, and two, we can use our daily routines to train ourselves to handle the stress and panic of unpreparedness when it arises. That and lots more, including references to the book "Improv Wisdom" on my segment this week, and also you can sign up for my newsletter and get my free 5-step habit building guide here, too!

2: Go Aff Yourself (17:04) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Are we preparers or shower-uppers? Jill suggested the topic this week as we didn't have an interview and I was experiencing some angst around that. It turned out to be such an excellent topic to explore! We both are ‘wing-it’ types and reflect on the anxiety that we have felt around this. How can improv and the scariness of making mistakes due to being unprepared teach us in life? And do we cast judgment when someone else isn’t prepared? How are we showing up for people who are unprepared? And do we attach our worth to our preparedness? The Aff this week is: I Trust Myself to Come Through in the Moment.

3: BYOBBB (31:59) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Certified Branding Consultant and Entrepreneur Bijou Finney: Bijou is always preparing and we get into that first off. She feels anxiety around not having the right thing but then recognizes how having what someone needs- preparedness- makes her feel good and can be tied to her own worthiness. Surrendering and just showing up go against Bijou’s inclination, and she is reconsidering how to approach these ideas in order to let go of the control and anxiety and allow for more flow in life. We cover a lot about how COVID affected businesses and the unpreparedness of that and whether it will make businesses more prepared in the future. And don't forget, too, you can still access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

33- Rock Your FREEDOM with John Zeitz, USCG Veteran and Activist

1h 2m · Published 05 Jul 13:00

FREEDOM. This one has a lot of meanings! So let's get to it. Here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I acknowledge that we have a lot going on in this country and touch on listening to this speech by Frederick Douglass on American slavery and freedom this July 4th. I move to another thought on freedom, and that is what it means in relationships and in the bigger picture: is it a practice? And is it all about choices? Listen for that and many more reveals from me as I get real about it all, as usual, and know that I DID IT and got my first new newsletter out and you can sign up and get my free 5-step habit building guide, too.

2: The Interview (13:23): Interview this week is with John Zeitz, US Coast Guard and Special Ops Veteran and Activist. John tell us about the responsibility of freedom and what that means, and the power of our own choices— or rather, how we can use our freedom. “It’s up to you as an individual to make sure you don't use your freedom for wrong, or to hurt others.” And yes, we talk about the “freedom” people want in not wearing masks. “Freedom isn’t free- it’s trite, but it’s true. When it’s said most often, it’s the fallen soldier, on the battlefield, fighting for our freedom overseas. But that isn’t just it. You have an obligation in a free society to act in a manner that benefits that society. Or at the very least, does not harm. And that is the price you pay to live in a free society. To not damage that society when you use your freedom.” I mention that it’s a fallacy to think we have complete freedom anyway; and John talks about the darkness and downside of anarchy and true libertarianism. The takeaway? Freedom is all about responsible choice. Beautiful interview, and so much more inside!

3: Go Aff Yourself (29:44) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill clarifies the context of freedom that we are speaking of: the freedom in relationship to self. Jill tends toward thinking of freedom in relation to time, but we explore other ways to find freedom and how it can equal openness and not necessarily independence. We address the guilt we can feel, too, that can come attached to freedom, which is true and so fascinating. And our Aff this week is: I Feel Freedom In New Ways. She ends with the thought of freeing up energy and the freedom of going with the flow. And Jill is back on social media!

4: BYOBBB (46:07) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: We get into the "freedom" of working for oneself, and the freedom trade-offs in business and how it’s different for everyone. “Doing things like collaborating with others and taking breaks from your job can mean tackling problems with a fresh mindset and a new perspective, which is a cool thing to do when you’ve gotten stuck in your ways. It’s this beautiful freedom and you can learn so much more from coming up with a new idea and working it out.” We also talk about freedom in branding and brain freedom and what can foster that, including psychedelics. And don't forget, too, you can still access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

32- Rock Your VOICE with Jackie Venson, Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist

1h 8m · Published 28 Jun 15:52

VOICE.  The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: This week, we talk one of the subjects that is most important to me. Voice. Voice is hugely crucial to my life, and I cover the myriad of ways I see it and how it has developed and grown stronger as I have grown older. I lost my voice both physically and emotionally a couple years back, so we cover the ups and downs of that as well. The main thing I have learned is that even when it's difficult (or maybe especially when it's difficult) it is worth it. You are doing right by YOU and that's the most important thing in life. Listen for that and lots, lots more this week, and remember that the free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, and sign up there for the newsletter, too!

2: The Interview (18:06): Interview this week is with Jackie Venson, badass singer/songwriter and guitarist. Jackie is Austin-based and recently spoke out about Austin music bookings being skewed and about the systemic racism in our community. She used her voice, as she has many times in the past, and the main difference with this moment of speaking out? People listened this time. As we see shifts in our nation and all industries, she used the platform she has worked incredibly hard to build and shares about how she listens to her audience to help her find her own voice. Jackie is a lot of fun and very candid and inspiring. Don't miss this conversation. And follow Jackie here for her livestreams, or check out her work on Austin360 Studio Sessions or her hilarious and great chats on Best of JB and Crew.

3: Go Aff Yourself (35:49) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: We talked about inner voice, and I brought up the pivotal nature of affirmations and using them with my voice and our/my progression with saying the affirmations out loud. We get into the power of words and the universe and the work we do on crafting affirmations and how we work through the words we choose for our affirmations. And we ask the hard question: do your inner voice and external voice match up? This week’s AFF calls that into our work: I find alignment in my internal and external voice.

4: BYOBBB (51:13) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: With Bijou's recent life choices and buying a farm (see more here!), we discuss the trepidation when telling others about making changes. We also take the Go Aff yourself Aff further: what about speaking our mind in business? I liken that to custody issues, and she brings up that we sometimes feel like we have to hide parts of ourselves when we are concerned about managing our voice. We can self-censor ourselves sometimes out of necessity.  I also talk more about newsletter and my fear around it and what’s holding me back with that.
Don't forget, too, you can still access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

31- Rock Your DECISIONS with Amber Soberon of Olé Santé Holistic Arts and Wellness Enhancement

51m · Published 21 Jun 13:00

DECISIONS, DECISIONS! Are you ready to rock your decisions and make them more powerful? Me too! The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I made a BIG decision this week. Listen for what that is and what I learned! i also touch on the power of intention in decision-making, my decision to embrace more power and responsibility with relation to my age, and the one simple thing we need to quit doing to enable ourselves into becoming more decisive and trusting ourselves more. Lots packed into my RYL this week! Listen for more, and also, the free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, and sign up there for the newsletter I commit to deciding on, too!

2: The Interview (15:11): Interview this week is with Amber Soberon of Olé Santé Holistic Arts and Wellness Enhancement Amber is a reiki master and energy worker, and she feels called to share about the powerful mantra of NO. We talk about how the small ways we compromise our moments and ourselves can add up and take a toll on our own energy. She challenges herself to say no when she needs to, to let go of the “need” for instant replies, social media posting, and more, and then she has some great concrete steps to help us work on these: She suggests getting out in nature, not looking at your phone in the morning (guilty!), overcoming anxiety conditioning, and teaches us simple breath work techniques for both pick me up and relaxation, including the 4-4-8 breathing. “It’s our need to be liked [or] to make sure someone else is happy. But the instant you turn that perspective to attending to that other person and setting yourself aside is the minute you’ve already taken yourself out of self-care. And even though it’s the tiniest little things, they add up over time." She leads into speaking our truth and challenging ourselves to “check in with yourself before you react to any question or situation. Just give yourself a minute and notice how your body feels before you respond. Typically in that instant you know the response you want to give and then it’s followed by a lot of thoughts adjusting your true desire to appeal to the other person or the situation.”

3: Go Aff Yourself (34:55) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill took social media off her phone and we discuss that decision and the 'why' behind it. I ask her if she is a decisive person, and we talk about her big decision to press pause on her business and whether it was really her decision or not. We cover ways we cope with indecisive moments, and tools like meditation to help us through those times. We also cover external qualifiers for decisions and how those can be a dangerous thing. And this week's Aff: I Easily Make Decisions.

4: BYOBBB (48:12) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Bijou is on hiatus this week, but I touch on a few brand decisions I made and where that has led me in the last week. Head to her Insta to see her new farm, and she'll be back next week. Meanwhile, access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

30- Rock Your VITALITY with Rebecca Naylor, Kambo Practitioner and Energy Healer

1h 3m · Published 14 Jun 15:55

VITALITY... let's breathe more vitality in all we do this week! The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I talk about last week's affirmations and adding Black Lives Matter as one and what that can mean to us; I also tell my Kambô journey and talk about how i work to remain in a space of vitality and what that means to me. Rebecca says in her interview today that all change and transformation is preceded by crisis, and how that is the law of the universe. Perhaps transforming into a human and a society with more vitality is on the horizon for us as we push through crises. Kambô certainly puts you through a purge in order to clean and unblock. Listen for more, and also, the free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, just click the link, and here is the book I recommend again, Ibram X. Kendi’s How To Be Anti-Racist.

2: The Interview (12:18): Interview this week is with Rebecca Naylor (@mysticradiance on Instagram or @kambospiritpath // kambospiritpath.com). Rebecca is a Kambô medicine practitioner and energy healer, and a bright shining soul in the universe. Vitality is a key part of her practice and all she does. She shares about her daily divination practice, which is a heart-centered morning ritual that we can all embrace: she tunes into her heart center daily upon waking and calls in her guides. This starts her day tuned in to vibration and blessings and vitality; she also tells me about her influences, Buckminster Fuller, and we get into energy and how the energy that we create has the ability to shape everything. We touch too on subtle energy work, ley lines, meridians, and the work that we can do to unblock the energy centers to gain more vitality. "We live in a universe that is always full of vitality. Nature doesn’t know how to be anything but full of vitality and full of abundance. And us as humans, we come into the world kicking and screaming, into a world of density, and as we go through life and we are tapped into the subtle energies of the earth and connected to the earth, and when we really get into the simple practices of observing the natural cycles of the earth and really being in tune with her energy, then we’re like a water hose, where the earth’s energy and vitality is just pouring in and we are able to ride that frequency like a surfer.” Don't miss this interview!

3: Go Aff Yourself (31:40) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: Jill defines vitality for us, and she was already working on vitality, as it came up for her in therapy not long ago. Is she putting vitality into the things that are important to her? You can actually be draining energy when you don’t approach something with vitality and energy. She says that the more energy we can keep within, the more energy we are able to give out. And we both had a caffeine crisis, and talk about how we can bring vitality to everyday mundane things. And this week's Aff: I Put Vitality Into The Things I Care About.

4: BYOBBB (46:04) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Fantastic branding chat today on BYOB. We talk about looking the part of our brands all the time, and we delve into the definition also. Bijou brings up constantly doing the work to bring vitality and freshness into your brand and your work all the time. My website feels lifeless, and what I am doing about it? Am I complacent?  Where can we find creativity? Inspiration? And how can we do that?
We shift to brain vitality and get very macro on that issue and the entire cosmos, too. Listen for this great segment, and remember that you can access our free pdf, too, that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

29- Rock Your WORTH with Emily Roberts, MA, LMHC, Psychotherapist and Author

1h 1m · Published 07 Jun 12:56

WORTH. Whether it's your own worth, our work's worth, or the worth of the lives of others, it matters, and let's get into rocking it this week. The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: This week I cover Black Lives Matter and a few resources to further educate ourselves, and what I'm doing, and then relate that back to remembering our worthiness. I've forgotten too many times to count, and it seems like we are all remembering right now and working toward that. What triggers me to remember and how can we get better at it and help others? That's the main thing this week. Listen for more, and remember this too: the free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, just click the link. And as I mention in the episode, here are links to my interviews with Mobley, and with Eric Webb on Austin360.com and the anti-racism book roundup and Ibram X. Kendi’s How To Be Anti-Racist.

2: The Interview (14:32): Interview this week is with Emily Roberts, MA, LMHC, Psychotherapist, Author, and Speaker, also know as The Guidance Girl. Emily was fantastic to talk to this week. We saw worth as foundational-- as a bedrock for life-- and she talks about her line of therapy tools and bracelets, Rock Your Worth, and what physical reminders can add to our mental health and how much we need those. We also talk about the expectations we put on ourselves about being enough rather than knowing our own worthiness in just showing up and trusting that purpose for being here, and Emily says, “All these things come up around worthiness- it spills into our lives in different ways- and at the end of the day, I want people to recognize that just being human is enough, and it’s worthy of respect and it’s worthy of our own self-compassion and the compassion that we would give other people... and we’ve got to remind ourselves of that." She adds, "How can I show up for you... for me... for other people in the world? Just these simple acts matter. It can be a daily action or a small shift in your consciousness and in your mindset, to bring more love and joy into the world.”

3: Go Aff Yourself (29:33) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: We question weighing our worth in output and what we give, and Jill says her worth feels low because she isn’t feeling a lot of worth because of less “output.” When we equate our worth with what we are putting out in the world- about doing rather than being- does that serve us? I also talk about this Facebook group I am in that has shifted my attitude about self-worth in dating, and how it has helped me understand further that just being is enough. We recognize, too, the need for and power of repetition. And this week's Aff is a two-fer: We Are All Inherently Worthy // I Am Inherently Worthy.

4: BYOBBB (43:54) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: I address the after effects of belief and surrender, and how those were out of line with my own inner conversation about worthiness. Bijou says we need to stay very aware of our worth in both business and in life, and how charging less can be detrimental to you and your business. “You’ll always be on the discount rack if you don’t charge what you're worth.” We also recognize the problem of Amazon and its effect on us devaluing work and lives and the things we can so easily get. "Worth is a horrible problem right now— we don’t know the worth of our environment, we don’t know the worth of the resources out of our planet, we don’t know the worth of people’s time and energy, we don’t treasure anything anymore— and I think that we should all work on that. The worth of our children and their time with you, and the worth of your clients and the care they take in using the little money they have to use your services- all this should make us so grateful, if we truly knew the worth of everything.” Listen for this great segment, and remember that you can access our free pdf, too, that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

28- Rock Your BELIEF with Dwight Baker, Producer and Musician

1h 6m · Published 31 May 13:00

BELIEF. Hoo boy... this one always proves to be tough for me! So all the more reason to dive in to what it truly means to believe. I took it to heart this week and put in the work to lean in and really find out what I needed to learn about belief. The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: I had a crisis on day one, and recorded my mini-breakdown to share. Whether it's the world around us that seems to be falling apart more every day, or it's the matter of believing in ourselves, how can we truly believe? And even further, know? I find a common thread through the week's conversations, and it is this: keep going. That's belief in action. And that shows the universe that we do believe, even when it might feel as if we don't. Listen for my tearful moments and lots more today. And last week's free PDF and my 5-step habit building guide are both still available for download, too, just click the link!

2: The Interview (11:48): Interview this week is with Dwight Baker, porducer, songwriter and one half of the musical duo The Wind + The Wave. Dwight has told me for years, "You just have to believe." So I went to him when this topic came up to find out just what that meant to him, as he has had immense successes in his life, and I wanted to know how his belief aided in those. We talked about cliché believing, how it's easier for men than women, how belief can shift over time but still retain the same vision and bigness, body image issues, trying to prove something, positive thinking, the importance of truthful friends, and lots more. He also turns the subject around on me to ask if I’m really believing in what I do and directionally focused on believing in that. He says, “It’s about continuing to just do it. And the positive thinking is true in the sense that if you tell yourself, ‘I can’t do this, I can’t go on,’ then you’re right, you definitely can’t. And if you tell yourself, ‘I can do this,” you still might not be able to, but you have a way better chance of doing it if you do say that and believe in yourself.” Find Dwight on Instagram HERE and his fantastic band at The Wind + The Wave.com.

3: Go Aff Yourself (32:47) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co: We recap signs and I recognize belief as my nemesis. We discuss belief in higher power and talk doubt, vision, and the deep seated problems we have truly believing. Can we brainwash ourselves into believing? And if we believe in other things, why can’t we parlay that belief into other things, like believing in ourselves? We discuss varying ways of belief including WW2, our president, and more. This week’s aff doesn’t come easy, but shakes out to the ultimately very self-help-y but very useful: I Choose to Believe in Myself.

4: BYOBBB (48:31) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: We cover branding as belief, and reach into how to achieve that and what it really means to believe in your brand. Also, we work on the limiting beliefs we may have in our business and our brands, and look at how to remain conscious in our own brand and those we work with. I talk about how I haven't truly embraced my brand over the years and the problem of that. We also hit on the importance of believing that being yourself is enough and finding your niche as that while building a brand foundationally.  Remember that you can access our free pdf from last week, too, that can help you with your brand values and the action you take.

27- Rock Your ACTION with Martha Pincoffs of Waking Giants

1h 2m · Published 24 May 12:52

ACTION! Everybody wants action, right? But... which direction do we go? And are we taking the right action? How do we know? All this and lots more this week on Rock Your Life! The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: While later in the episide we talk about lining our actions up with our values, I got to thinking this week about what my actions are showing me about my own value. Am I choosing the actions that reflect my own value? Hmm... often, I'm not, and I get real about that and more. I reevaluated my actions in that light and learned that we honor our value with our actions. And what is the feeling intended behind the actions we take? Listen for more, plus, Bijou and I have this week's FREE PDF available for download, and don't forget that last week's free habit building guide is still available for download, too!

2: The Interview (11:50): Interview this week is with Martha Pincoffs of Waking Giants, a subscription-based box service that centers on activism and providing people with the tools they need to move toward collective action to make change. We cover their accelerated need for realignment during this time, how Martha got started as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and advocating for rights, and she has practical tips for starting anywhere on whatever you care about: “You don’t have to change the whole entire world. Pick out something that you care about and maybe send a postcard. But just start, and start with reasonable expectations and let it fit in your life- whatever it is that your life looks like, if you are interested in moving justice forward, in whatever shape that takes, just start somewhere, anywhere.” I loved our conversation and the simple idea that nowadays, simply educating ourselves about trailblazers of the past can be a beautiful and worthy action. “Sometimes action- especially in these times- can be finding voices to be led by. Sometimes educating myself is the action i take. Because slowing down and reading a book and nourishing my understanding everybody who has come before and led before and all that they have sacrificed, and the trails that they’ve blazed. We stand on the shoulders of others," she says. You'll enjoy our conversation, listen for more, and follow her on Instagram as well HERE.

3: Go Aff Yourself (27:31) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co:, Jill has a strange relationship with action, and we get into not only that, but trust, fear and finding signs to point us to the actions that are right for us. She brings up the negative association of force within action, and the problem thinking like that when it can result in inaction. For her, she is looking more for subtle actions that create long term change. Do we meet challenges to push through them? Or are challenges there to show us another path, and that there is resistance? We develop this week's beautiful aff from this concept: I Trust That I Am Guided to the Next Right Action.

4: BYOBBB (43:40) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: We address the actions we need to take in business, and how to align our core values with those actions. Are you doing what you need to do? She puts me on the spot and I know I am not, and she tells me this about taking action: "Everybody has trouble taking action, and the ones who succeed are the ones who get past it." She's right. Are we going to take the actions needed to succeed in our brands and our businesses? We talk about having too many words on your website, the power of 5 seconds, and lots more. And access our free pdf that can help you with your brand values and the action you take, and making sure you align!

1h 6m · Published 17 May 13:32

ROUTINE. What's sexy about routine? Well, while we agree that it might not be the sexiest topic, it's got it's own charm. It doesn't have to mean a rut, or drudgery. Let's dive in and see what we can rock about our routines. The podcast is in four segments, and here’s this week’s breakdown:

1: Rock Your Life with Amy: What, ultimately, is routine about? For me, it's about becoming better little by little, and becoming better is a way of showing gratitude for all that we have- even what we have that exists as potential. Need more clarification? Listen to my segment for my daily routines and more on what it can bring to us and our future selves! Also, I have a free offer available for download to help build new habits!

2: The Interview (19:16): Interview this week is with the very lovely Mariska Nicholson, founder of skincare line Olive + M. Mariska recognizes the obligatory nature of scheduling and we discuss that in contrast to the value of routine. She tells us her self care routine and her skin care routines, and how that helps calibrate the day ahead. She brings up the beautiful ability of being able to change our minds, and how now the grounding of our routines can be something we choose and that we can enjoy. “As I got older, and I saw the value of routine, I made friends with it. And I think that you have to do that with the things that you’re resistant to. If you can make friends with them, you dissolve the resistance, and then you can move to a different place with it.” Listen for lots more, and how she suggests ways to reframe routine! And follow her on Instagram as well HERE.

3: Go Aff Yourself (33:29) with Affirmation Maven Jill Faulkner of stickwithit.co:, How do we feel about routine and the “supposed to” nature of it? And how are we working the affs into it? Jill says she doesn’t have routines… and we dive into what that really means. What is the connotation of the word itself? What does it bring up in you- perhaps, the potential to fail? Routine is important now, and how can we foster that? We get into all this and also Jill's mew meditation practice. This week’s aff is: My Daily Life Includes All That I Need.

4: BYOBBB (48:51) Build Your Own Brand, Biz + Brain with Bijou Finney: Bijou and I talked her thoughts on routine in light of her own personal upheaval, and she gives solid advice on biz and brand routines. She shares also about her upcoming e-course and advice she got about implementing routine in our businesses, and with a bigger-picture scheduling effort: “You should be thinking about routine in your business by the day, by the week, by the quarter, by the year. And think about what that routine is, and religiously do it.” I ask what this means for someone like me, without a team, and she clarifies that I’m still a business, and it should happen no matter what your size. We may have to re-find our way with this and she encourages us to write that down. We cover how to deal with social media routine, how planning can benefit us, and our brain routines that are for brain optimization. Schedule time to make your routine, she says, and while she gives advice on how to go easy on yourself, the routine is about setting up a habit and it’s important to be diligent and consistent.
