Sanjana is the founder and executive director of RutuChakra is a youth-run organization working towards promoting personal and menstrual hygiene amongst individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We talked about the different issues surrounding menstruation including stigmatization, the effect of the pandemic on menstruators, and why feminism actually stands for all gender equality. Sanjana is incredibly passionate and has done amazing service for menstruators across India, so go check out her work.

Tanisha Pandit on Women Empowerment through De-stigmatizing Menstruation and Improving Access

Throughout this journey, I have met amazing and dedicated change-makers and leaders. Tanisha Pandit is one of them. Tanisha is the founder of RITVA, a nonprofit organization focused on creating sustainable menstruation products, promoting awareness about menstrual hygiene, and women empowerment. RITVA has over 1300 ambassadors and has educated around 45,000 women about menstrual hygiene and sustainable menstruation. In this episode, she talks about the struggle to de-stigmatize menstruation especially in slum areas, promoting un-plastic menstruation products to improve women's health and minimize environmental damage, and her life's mission to empower women. Tanisha is one of the most dedicated and ambitious people I have met, so make sure to check out her work and RITVA.
