Today Barbara is joined by Susan Howland, Program Director of the Alzheimer's Association, California Southland Chapter. Susan tells us about their mission, and the services they offer for people with dementia and their families. The Alzheimer’s Association is a national, nonprofit organization providing educational information, emotional support services and advocacy for those with memory loss, their care partners and professionals in the field of aging.

Emma Travis has a bright future. Brought up by loving parents, she started a new, exciting job in 2019 and recently got engaged to the love of her life. Her role model has always been her dad, a successful retired executive who always demonstrated leadership, hard work, and a love for people. Everything changed four years ago, when her dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Emma and Barbara discuss the challenges of this unexpected chapter in her and her dad’s life, and how the power of positivity can persevere, despite it all.
