22m · PublishedWhat's up friends! Today the Mood team wanted to touch on an issue that is more commonly present than it is talked about amongst clinicians.
Acne has afflicted a lot of people with their skin on their face or other parts of their body. However, we wanted to focus on how it affects a person's emotional well-being. Tiffany & Richard share their take about how acne can have a huge toll on a person when they're young & how a nonjudgmental approach can allow others to feel more comfortable with themselves if they have acne.

Episode 9: Virtual Reality Therapy. Discussion with Priya Singhvi, Director of Clinical Operations
28m · PublishedHappy Wednesday friends!
This is a long-anticipated episode we've been working on for some time.
We have a super special guest today with Priya, Director of Clinical Operations for Rey. Rey is a new virtual mental health clinic that is taking telehealth to the next level by utilizing digital treatments such as virtual reality, administered by a highly trained clinical care team.
The counseling experience for patients and practitioners is transformed with a promising transition to digital environments that can provide a safe place to deliver treatments to the moments most effective to impact patient outcomes, delivered when and where they need it most. Rey operates as its own clinic but its technology can also be incorporated into existing clinical practices. Decades of research and ongoing trials are helping to contribute to adding immersive technology for treating many afflicting mental health issues.
In this podcast, Priya described to us what virtual reality is, its impact on treating people for counseling, and how their team is striving to increase scalability of the delivery of high quality mental health care.
Here's a research paper that encompasses Daniel's work on the efficacy of VR: Virtual reality in the assessment, understanding, and treatment of mental health disorders
