#66 - Determining your Worth

15m · Published 13 Oct 22:53

This week I chat about how we determine our worth as a mother. Are we providing ourself a lens where we are only determining it based upon the 'outcomes' of our mothering, or are we looking backwards at worth dependent on career?

However we determine our worth, it is great to stop and examine this concept. As a busy working mum, it is easy to fall into a societal trap of worth determination, and today I want to plant some seeds on exploring how we do determine our worth.

What matters to us? Now that we are a mum and working, this may have changed substantially compared to previously. Lets have a listen, and a bit of a think about worth in motherhood.

#65 - Dr Lucy Burns - Sugar, Health & Motherhood

22m · Published 20 Sep 21:19

This weeks episode see's the amazing Dr Lucy Burns from Real Life Medicine join us to chat about her health journey, her motherhood, and how she has changed her life dramatically by changing her mindset and how she eats.

Like me, Lucy had a bit of a health crisis, and joined forces with the awesome Dr Mary Barton to forge a path of lifestyle medicine. She's a practicing GP, and runs online courses for busy humans wanting guidance to change their diet and mindset and step away from diet culture.

I loved our chat. I hope you do too!

Next week, I am hosting a 5 day Chaos to Calm Challenge. I will step you through how to move from complete disorder and confusion into a calm state... it's seriously going to be the best $7 you spend.

#62 - Kelly Bell - Mothering, Business & Life Skills

35m · Published 22 Aug 01:19

In this weeks episode I have the glorious Kelly Bell joining me to chat about her massive pivot from Classroom teacher to online support for teachers through NSW.

Covid created a new level of stress for Kell, and as she began to navigate through burnout, and a loss of family connectedness, she decided to make the jump into the online world.

This transformation has been so great for her on a health perspective, but also on a life front too. I really hope you enjoy this chat. If you want to find out more info on Kell go to https://www.thelearnnet.com

#61 - The Surrender Concept

13m · Published 09 Aug 20:00

Have you ever wondered what it's like to realise things need to change when you are navigating the working mother life?

The surrender concept is just this for me. Surrendering to the concept that maybe what was big for me before has changed, and isn't as important. Maybe surrendering to the choice to decrease profit for a little while in order to make gains in other areas of your life.

Surrendering and leaning into the role as a mother, and changing the roles as a business owner, be it temporarily or permanet.

In this episode I share all of the things that I discovered as I emerged from the crazy world of burnout. The learnings that I took on board, and the shifts that needed to occur. I hope you get something for yourself from it too!

#60 Zoe Haack - You Already Knew

27m · Published 28 Jul 20:03

In today's episode, I chat with author Zoe Haack all about restoring fun, play and 'real' childhood back into childhood. Zoe has had an extraordinary journey, and has moved wholly to supporting families to embrace a childlike and childled expression of self within their family units.

Zoe Haack is a child activist and thought leader on growth through osmosis. She sees a world where our natural rhythms are restored, and children lead.

She has witnessed the innate wisdom of childhood and implores adults to see beyond the confines of societal structures to regain sovereignty.

An avid researcher and remarkable storyteller, Zoe revolutionises the way parents and educators prioritise trust, freedom, and autonomy for children.

#59 - Judgement in Parenting

13m · Published 26 Jul 21:56

Ok, so this weeks episode has me getting a little bit ranty about judgement in parenting. We all do it, yes even me sometimes (and I share when I've been most judgey in my past), but there are some pretty solid reasons to just be kind to each other.

We have just globally navigated one of the key events of our lifetimes, and our nerve systems are still recovering from it, and judgement (whether perceived or real), can be a big problem in the parenting paradigm.

I'd love to hear your feedback, and to have more conversations about judgement in parenting. The key take homes are:

- judgement was an evolutionary approach in cultures to develop best practice and ensure survival

- not everybody has the same backgrounds, information, knowledge base, privelege and resources

- listening withough judgement is a growth skill - and one that mothering amplifies.

- kindness, and support when asked for is key.

Enjoy.

Episode 58 brings the goods as I chat with Filipa Bellette all about her move from burnout to becoming a functional medicine practitioner. # 57 - Why we need a Break

13m · Published 14 Jul 04:18

As working mum's, it so easy to just keep on going... until we can't. This concept of working and mumming and life-ing until we drop is a big one that pervades the societal expectations of motherhood.

If we work, then to make up for it, we have to keep doing all the other things too. We need to break this narrative, and this is my story of why I desperately felt like I needed a break these school holidays!
