Raising the Bar: The New Expectation of Black Cinema

1h 34m · Published 26 Feb 11:00

As we close out Black History Month 2021, we wanted to touch on a very important subject that is not commonly and publicly talked about within filmmaker circles. It is for this very reason we've decided to ask ourselves the question: How can we raise the bar as black/minority filmmakers?

In this episode, we are joined by Von Walker, a very talented filmmaker and dear friend of ours from Maryland, as well as Myles Evans, the Teenage Bounty Hunter heartthrob whom you might remember from our last episode. Both give great insights on how they personally contribute to a new narrative surrounding black cinema, but also what they'd like to see from those currently holding power in the industry.

So, listen in and enjoy a fresh perspective of our industry, and how we feel we can contribute to a new expectation of black cinema.

Enjoy!

I'm no casting director, but I'd say that was PERFECT casting.

This episode centers around Myles career as an actor and filmmaker, and what steps he's taking to contribute to the diversity movement in Hollywood.
