Skeptical Help Bar with Kenny Biddle - Paranormal/Skeptical

by WLFE-DB Radio Network

The Bar is Open! Each week, skeptical investigator Kenny Biddle hosts a Q&A show where listeners are encouraged to grab an adult beverage and ask paranormal-related questions. I'll offer my own skeptical opinion based on my experience, knowledge, and Google.
I have four simple guidelines;
1 - I welcome paranormal-related questions if you're interested in a more skeptical point of view.
2 - I don't know everything, so I may very well answer "I don't know". I don't make things up. However, I love to look up new things...so we can all learn something new.
3 - This is for fun. It's an open Q&A for friendly discussion of topics from different viewpoints. So, don't be a dick.
4 - It's a virtual bar, so grab yourself a real adult beverage and join in. When I'm feeling REALLY good, that's when the Skeptical Help Bar closes for the night.
If questions & comments need to be clarified, guests are encouraged to come on as a guest! I enjoy talking, plus it's nice to hear a voice other than my own! I might even have a special guest on from time to time that can offer more insight on specific topics.

The Skeptical Help Bar - Mick West

1h 57m · Published 14 Nov 20:27
The Skeptical Help Bar welcomes Mick West to the show! Mick is a writer and a debunker. He used to be a video game programmer who now focuses on investigating and explaining conspiracy theories such as Chemtrails, 9/11 controlled demolition, and False Flags. He also cover topics such as UFO’s, pseudoscience, Flat Earth, photo analysis, and quackery.
His 2018 book, Escaping the Rabbit Hole, examines the full spectrum of conspiracy theories from 9/11 to Flat Earth, and looks at how people get into them, how they get drawn down the rabbit hole, how they get out, and how you can help. Interviews with former conspiracy theorists show that there is hope even for the most deeply entrenched conspiracist. Mick explains the key flaws with popular conspiracy theories, and how to talk to people who believe in them.
His primary website, Metabunk.org, is where he posts and discusses various investigations. It is a polite forum of and about debunking. Metabunk gets 10,000 visitors a day and has an active discussion community.
He hosts the podcast, Tales From the Rabbit Hole, which is an interview-style podcast focusing on people whose lives have been affected by the conspiracy theory rabbit hole. Mick was recently elected a Fellow with the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.

It's "Open Mic" night at the Skeptical Help Bar - I take on your questions about various topics. We get into investigations methods, vampires & werewolves, we take a look at a slightly inappropriate SLS kinect video of a "ghost," and much more. The start of the show is a bit rough - I was late getting ready and Facebook was giving me some problems, but it gets back on track quickly.

The Skeptical Help Bar - YOUR Topics

2h 1m · Published 17 Oct 03:17
Earlier today I asked what topics YOU guys would like to discuss, and you responded. We're going to touch on things like Confirmation Bias, Pareidolia, Apophenia, ghost hunters that run from the very thing they're 'hunting', Moral Ethics, how ghosts can be immaterial and still interact with physical objects, why aren't team 'getting rid of ghosts', and more (if I can get through all of this!). Grab a drink and join me!

The Skeptical Help Bar - YOUR Spooky Experiences

2h 2m · Published 03 Oct 03:18
The Skeptical Help Bar reopens once again at 9pm Eastern/6 Pacific tonight. Pour yourself a drink, saddle up to your streaming device, and tell me about YOUR spooky experiences. If you've ever had an experience you just couldn't figure out - be it ghosts, UFOs, cryptids, or religious events - let's talk about them. Perhaps together, we can find some natural and/or man-made causes for what you experienced. This ain't me just trying to debunk everyone's stories - rather, it's an exorcise in critical thinking. Let's hear the story, comb through the details, and see what sticks out. Feel free to post your experiences in the comments before the show (so I can get a head start on them) AND you're welcome to come on the show for a few minutes to tell your story and offer more details.
