Special guest Erik Kristopher Myers joins the Skeptical Help Bar this week. We dive into some well-known horror movie "curses" and myths, separating the rumors from what really went on.

Erik Kristopher Myers (ekm) is a writer and filmmaker, whose 2013 movie Roulette took home numerous festival trophies and received praise from critics. His latest feature, Butterfly Kisses, brings his interest in folklore, urban legends, and skeptical inquiry to the screen. Released in October 2018, Butterfly Kisses shot to the top of the Amazon.com charts for New Release Fantasy, and was featured on both CBS and Fox News, while scoring rave reviews from high-profile Horror websites.
Myers has also won numerous awards for screenwriting and editing for his collaboration with other independent filmmakers. He has been a producer for XM Satellite Radio and a reporter for WTOP News; he's written film criticism for The Dagger and Ain’t it Cool News, chiefly on the subjects of genre theory and franchise history; he is a contributor to the Squaring the Strange podcast; and he sits on the Board of Directors for the Howard County Autism Society. The Skeptical Help Bar welcomes Mick West to the show! Mick is a writer and a debunker. He used to be a video game programmer who now focuses on investigating and explaining conspiracy theories such as Chemtrails, 9/11 controlled demolition, and False Flags. He also cover topics such as UFO’s, pseudoscience, Flat Earth, photo analysis, and quackery.
His 2018 book, Escaping the Rabbit Hole, examines the full spectrum of conspiracy theories from 9/11 to Flat Earth, and looks at how people get into them, how they get drawn down the rabbit hole, how they get out, and how you can help. Interviews with former conspiracy theorists show that there is hope even for the most deeply entrenched conspiracist. The Skeptical Help Bar - Paqui One Chip Challenge edition

The first part of this episode is "Open Mic" night, taking on general questions about ghosts, UFOs, and cryptids. In the second part, JD Sword and Kenny take part in the Paqui One Chip Challenge to raise money for the Cancer Research Institute. We both ate the chip and suffered intense burning and not-so-nice feelings...but we raised over $600 for our charity.
