Welcome to Episode 41 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week I ventured into the world of Antiquarian Horology, and English pocket watches, with knowledgable and incredibly patient watchmaker, Seth Kennedy. Seth brought along a selection of the tools he uses when working on the timepieces of the past, along with a few watches from his own collection, including two that he has hand crafted brand new, sterling silver cases for. For the wags who felt that the modern British watches on episode 39 weren’t quite British enough, hopefully the pieces on today’s show will satisfy your patriotic urges! Welcome to Episode 39 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week I met up with Jonathan, to talk about four modern British watches, that caught his eye, stole his heart, and made their way into his watch box. The first two from smaller scale independents, the third from a company that’s supplied watches to the Ministry of Defence for over 4 decades, and the fourth from an internationally known brand that’s sold alongside it’s Swiss contemporaries in retailers around the world. All different, and yet all sharing a uniquely British Character. Watches on this week's show: Pinion Revival 1969 Schofield Blacklamp CWC 1980 Royal Navy Diver Re-Issue Bremont Supermarine Terra Nova LE Head to https://www.time4apint.com/podcast/the-time-4a-pint-podcast-episode-39 for pictures and show notes. Welcome to Episode 38 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week I caught up with Arwind, an early Time 4A Pint attendee, and man who embodies the core value of Time 4A Pint, as a drinking club with a watch problem. Whilst we recorded today’s show during the day, and drank nothing more than tea, the watch problem persisted, and things got kind of nerdy, and before we knew what was going on there were El Primeros everywhere. A nice problem to have. Welcome to Episode 37 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week I was out in Karlsruhe, Germany, for the Chrono24 get together, and through a mix of good luck, good timing, and other people being much more organised, got to sit down with Eric Wind for a chat. Hear how Eric went from being an enthusiastic amateur, to regular contributor for Hodinkee, to Vice President, Senior Specialist of Watches at Christie's New York, and is now running his own vintage watch business, Wind Vintage. Oh, and we talked about some of his watches too! Watches on this week's show: Gallet "Jim Clark" Multichron 12 Heuer Carrera 2447N Vulcain Cricket Tudor Prince Oysterdate Ranger (two of them!) 1961 Rolex 1675 GMT-Master Omega Speedmaster 145.012-67 "Ultraman" Head to https://www.time4apint.com/podcast/the-time-4a-pint-podcast-episode-37 for pictures and show notes. Welcome to Episode 35 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - For this week's show, I spent an evening with Nathan, talking about his transition from vintage vinyl, to watch collecting, and the friends he's made along the way. With 5 pieces on the table, each with a background story linking it into the wider watch collecting community, it's fair to say that Nathan is collecting with a little help from his friends. Welcome to Episode 34 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week we got together with Jonas, to talk about some of the military pieces within his eclectic collection. True to character, they're are not only of different types, from different manufactures, and periods of time, but from different militaries and forces too - Making today's show a rather horological combined forces operation. Welcome to Episode 33 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week we spent an afternoon with Mister James Dowling, Rolex aficionado, and not so secret lover of the Beta 21, talking about the high end electronic movement from the past, and the futuristic watches that it was fitted to. With fifteen Beta 21 equipped watches on the table, we focused on some of James' favourites, including models from Patek Philippe, Rolex, IWC, and Rado - vastly different watches, with identical movements. Welcome to Episode 32 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week we grabbed a beer with Ollie, a vintage watch collector, who doesn't currently have any of his vintage watches (they're all away being repaired), to talk about two of the most popular limited edition pieces to be released in 2017, the Omega Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday, and the Halios Seaforth. They're from different ends of spectrum in terms of production location, retail price, and size of the businesses behind them. And very honestly, they're very different watches in many ways. That said, they do share some key characteristics - they're a pair of tool watches that were released on the internet, are equally endowed with epic amounts of super-luminova, and both look as at home in the pub, as they do out diving or exploring outer space respectively. We think they make rather an attractive pair of Horological Sisters from (very) Different Misters. Welcome to Episode 31 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - for this week's show we got to spend some time with Johann, who was visiting the UK all the way from Manila, in the Philippines, and brought along some of his Limited Edition timepieces to share with us. With watches from different manufacturers, in different styles, and at different price points, the only thing limited about Johann's collection is the number of pieces released. Welcome to Episode 30 of the Time 4A Pint Podcast - this week we got together with Stuart, the man behind www.omegaholygrail.com to talk about the Omega Speedmaster 376.0822, or as it's better known in watch collector circles, The Holy Grail. Stuart kindly brought along two versions of the 376.0822, one all original, the other with service parts, and shared with us what to look for when trying to evaluate this uncommon Speedmaster from the 1980s.
