School Reopening Plans in St. Louis with a real life teacher Brian Vaccaro 2020-2021 school COVID-19

44m · Published 22 Jul 01:56

July 20, 2020: announcement day! Join Brian Vaccaro, local St. Louis educator from Grand Center Arts Academy, and host, Gen Lobonc Billhartz from Shock City School of Music as they both eagerly await decisions from their children's school districts on reopening plans AND discuss in person and virtual plans from the perspective of an educator.

More than that, Brian keeps things POSITIVE and describes some possibilities for the return to school AND beyond. How might music class or band look with the return to in person learning in light of health concerns around COVID-19? What are some of the extra benefits of online opportunities for online projects and performances for middle school and high school aged students? How does Brian remain flexible through all of the uncertainty? TUNE IN to get those questions answered and more!

We know MANY of you are beyond stressed sorting through which education option to choose for your school aged child AND more importantly how to juggle this with being either a single-parent working home or dual-parent working home or simply with diving head first (and continuing) to add "teacher" to the multiple hats you are already wearing at home. If nothing else, hopefully this conversation will provide a new perspective and light view on these difficult circumstances.

Please feel free to drop comments below on what your school and district has decided, how this may effect you, what you're planning to do, thoughts, feelings, and more! We are a community and we are in this together! Let's uplift and support one another. Stay tuned through the end of the show for an AMAZING virtual performance, courtesy of Brian Vaccaro's 2019-2020 students of Grand Center Arts Academy AND also a performance from Brian himself.
