Steve Luongo’s Rock & Roll Show ‘n‘ Tell

by Steve Luongo

Steve Luongo is an American drummer who has performed, produced or recorded with some of the biggest names in the music business including John Entwistle-The Who, Leslie West-Mountain, Eddie Money, Jack Bruce-Cream, Billy Squier, Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams-AC/DC, Robin Zander-Cheap Trick, Rat Race Choir, Mark Farner-Grand Funk Railroad, Rickie Blackmore-Rainbow, Todd Rundgren, Ann Wilson-Heart, Joe Walsh-Eagles, Don Felder-Eagles, David Pack-Ambrosia, Alan Parsons, Dicky Betts-Allman Brothers, Michael Bolton, Buck Dharma-Blue Oyster Cult and many more. The entertainment industry is like one big private club for members only. How do you become a card-carrying member of the entertainment elite? By devoting your life to your craft. If you‘re a member it is usually for life and when you meet up with one of your ”brothers/sisters” in the business it becomes a celebration. The conversations that transpire between industry pros are guarded and rarely take place in public. These conversations happen backstage, in a dressing room, green room, hotel lobby or on a tour bus. The shop talk conversation between two musicians is considerably different than the meet & greet chatter musicians have with fans. A chat with family and friends is usually about anything but ”The BIZ”. Rock & Roll Show ‘n‘ Tell makes you a fly on the dressing room wall as longtime professional friends or respected peers reconnect spontaneously. ”It‘s like being backstage at Madison Square Garden.”

Steve Luongo (John Entwistle Band) ep 113

1h 14m · Published 10 Nov 22:51

We select our episodes from the live stream version of R&R Show 'n' Tell.   Our 200th guest on the stream was me (Steve Luongo) I was interviewed by Fader Istheman and the whole experience was a lot of fun.  I included a live performance by The John Entwistle Band "Under A Raging Moon" from Detroit at Pine Knob amphitheater.  The song includes my drum solo from that show.  If you're not a fan of drum solos fast forward about 10 minutes and you should be safe...  I have played with many well known artists including Leslie West-Mountain, Mark Farner-Grand Funk Railroad, Robin Zander-Cheap Trick, Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams-AC/DC, Todd Rundgren and more. BUT, performing with John Entwistle of The Who was a standout 15 year period of my music career.  I hope you enjoy this episode.
