Kelvin Young is a Community Health Worker at InterCommunity HealthCare in Hartford, CT and certified Sound Healer. He is also a person in sustained recovery, which means he hasn't used alcohol or other drugs to cope with his mental and emotional distress since March 6, 2009. The first time he was exposed to sound healing, Kelvin discovered the sounds of the crystal and Tibetan singing bowls and gongs calmed his mind, relaxed his body and nourished his soul. He went on to study sound healing with Master Sound Healers, Paul Hubbert of the Holographic Sound and Inner Balance, Tony Nec of Sound Healing Academy and Satya Brat Jaiswal of the International Academy of Sound Healing, Kelvin has also studied with Brian Luke Seaward of Inspiration Unlimited, a renowned international expert in the field of holistic stress management and received his recovery coach certification from CT Community for Addiction Recovery.(CCAR) Kelvin has presented around the country in diverse settings, including Yoga Reaches Out, Newtown Yoga Festival, The Shift Network, Indie Yoga in San Francisco, CA, Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, yoga studios, retreat centers, conferences, colleges, prisons, addiction treatment centers, psychiatric inpatient units at state hospitals and mental health agencies. Elian Zach received her formal training in sound therapy at The New York Open Center under the guidance of world-renowned sound researcher, practitioner and ethnomusicologist, Alexandre Tannous. An advanced, E-RYT yoga teacher, she completed her trainings and continuing education in New York with a variety of master teachers from different yogic disciplines, including Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga, Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee of Yoga Shanti, Leslie Kaminoff, Ramanand Patel, Sam Chase and Kevin Gardiner. Elian is also a breathwork facilitator, trained in Breakthrough Breathwork, a modality which she frequently incorporates into her sound offerings. Sheila Whittaker is a sound healer and teacher with a background in classical music. She studied violin at the Royal College of Music and has had a career playing and teaching in the mainstream classical music world for many years. To use her musical abilities in a more focused, holistic way, she became a sound healer more than 20 years ago. During the last 15 years, she has specialized in using large high-quality gongs for her sound healing work. Sheila is a course tutor for the UK College of Sound Healing. She runs a gong practitioner training course for the college and also conducts other gong and sound healing workshops. For two years she was chairperson for the college and continues to serve as its advisor on all matters gong-related. In 2010 Sheila published Sound Healing with Gongs: A Gong Book for Beginners. Her second book, In the Heart of the Gong Space: The Gong as a Spiritual Tool appeared in 2012. She has recorded several gong CDs, appeared on the radio, and has many gong videos on YouTube. Kimberly Schipke has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in biomedical engineering. A health crisis inspired her to study groundbreaking new treatments, as well as integrative and ancient therapies. She studied under nuclear and astrophysicist, Dr. Elizabeth Rauscher and Dr. Valerie Hunt, author of "Infinite Mind." Kimberly became a certified clinical thermographer and used infrared cameras to study temperature changes on and around the body during energy-based treatment modalities like Qigong.
