In this episode Alicia Miller explores the concept of behavioral insights and how tax administrations can leverage it in their operations. She also shares insights from a publication she co-authored - Behavioural Insights for Better Tax Administration: A Brief Guide.

Alicia Miller is the Director of Analytics Research and Technology Division (OCPO) at the United States Internal Revenue Service. She is also a Co-founder of OECD FTA Community of Interest on Behavioural Insights and Co-Author, Behavioural Insights for Better Tax Administration: A Brief Guide.

Alfred Akibo-Betts speaks with five senior executives of the Kenya Revenue Authority and the Controller of Budget Kenya as they reflect on lessons learned from a TADAT training that was conducted for senior management of revenue administrations of six African countries.

From January 17th to January 31st this year, senior management of revenue administrations of six African countries, including Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda, participated in a training workshop of the TADAT methodology. In this two-part episode of the TADAT podcast, Alfred Akibo-Betts speaks with five senior executives of the Kenya Revenue Authority and the Controller of Budget Kenya about the TADAT training, lessons learned, its applicability, and the plans their respective departments have for the implementation of good practices in revenue administration.

The TADAT Secretariat supports capacity development to promote good practices in tax administrations. In January 2022, a TADAT training program for Senior Management teams of six African tax administrations was delivered. Beneficiary countries included Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, and Uganda. This was a joint effort of the TADAT Secretariat, the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). In this episode, two guests join us to discuss the significance of the TADAT training program for Senior Management of these six African Revenue Administrations.
