She went downstairs to look for her son and discovered his decapitated remains inside her home. On October 27, 2016 in Henry County Georgia, four people were killed during a bonfire party. Two men were indicted and charged with murder. One confessed to the murders and told officers that he was solely responsible. Authorities charged the other man with murder anyway and placed him in jail. In 2021, this man was re-indicted on 30 charges, and the state is seeking the death penalty. He still awaits trial 7 years after the killings.

On November 10, 2018 in Earlville, Iowa, Amy Mullis was working in a hog barn with her husband, Todd, and their eldest son, Trysten. Amy was recovering from a minor procedure and Todd suggested she get a pet carrier from the shed and then rest. After an hour and a half, Trysten went to the shed to fetch the carrier and check on his mother. He found her on her hands and knees with a 4-pronged corn rake protruding from her back in the shed. Amy was pronounced dead at the hospital and Todd became suspect number one. Did Todd kill Amy or was this a terrible accident?

August 10th, 1996. Preston, Washington. Sergeant Mathias Bachmeier responded to a call at the home of James Wren, who was in a dispute with his landlord. Officer Bachmeier put Wren into his patrol car and took him to a nearby station to make a statement. James Wren was never seen alive again.
