Dori Ann Myers was a skilled poker player. She knew how to make calculated decisions when the pressure was on. But she also had a soft spot for people, especially for those who made sacrifices for the good of others. Unfortunately, one of those people took advantage of Dori letting her guard down and of her not treating people with the same critical eye as she did cards. Someone came into her home in January 10th, 2006 and, when they left during the early morning hours of January 11th, they took Dori with them. Now it’s law enforcement who are having to make calculated decisions in their attempts to solve her case.

June 1st, 1983 began as an exciting day for 12-year-old Ann Gotlib since it was the first day of summer vacation. She spent the day with various friends before making a short bike ride home. But it was a ride during which Ann disappeared. Sadly, law enforcement were not short on potential suspects— even though it is a case that remains open to this day.

Michael Gorley left his mother’s home on May 17th, 2015 to spend the day with friends. When Michael failed to return home by the following morning and those same “friends” began giving conflicting stories to his family about when Michael left the evening before, Michael’s mother and sister knew in their hearts that something had gone horribly wrong. But where did Michael go and why did those same “friends” not seem concerned about finding him?

It was a spur-of-the-moment date in Philadelphia. They hadn’t seen each other in weeks and even them meeting up on the evening of Saturday, February 19th, 2005 was coincidental. But the two of them (and the vehicle they were in) vanished that night without any clues pointing investigators toward one theory or another. So why do officals now believe that the disappearance of that pair-- Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone, Jr-- was the result of a murder-for-hire plot? Mandy Stavik was everything every girl wanted to be. She was an athlete and intelligent. She had a caring heart and lived life to the fullest. Sadly, her life was cut short. However, thanks to advances in DNA and to poolside gossip, her killer was identified. 

The day was going to be a dream come true. It was Jjune 4th, 2010, and 7-year-old Kyron Horman was thrilled that the day of the science fair had finally arrived. His display on the red-eyed tree frog was sure to impress! But, just after the fair ended and it was time to walk to homeroom, something shifted. The day filled with promise turned to one that was every parent’s nightmare when Kyron didn’t get off the bus that afternoon. When his parents found out that he had been marked absent from school all day, they knew something was horribly wrong.

Chelsea Grimm was about to tackle a big undertaking— driving alone across the country. But, when, a few days in, she hadn’t gotten very far, she changed her plans to go camping nearby instead. That plan too was foiled when she got two flat tires along the route. But there wasn’t a backup plan family and friends heard about this time— because this time Chelsea had disappeared.

Seventeen-year-old Muriel Baldridge had the whole world ahead of her. She and friends had made the most of the June evening, going to a softball game, a movie, and then to the local carnival. They walked together up to the West Prestonsburg Bridge in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Immediately on the other side of the bridge was Muriel’s home. She said she would be fine walking the rest of the distance on her own, saying goodbye to her friends, who walked back toward town and the carnival. But, in that short distance, someone took Muriel’s life-- and there was no shortage of potential perpetrators.
