On this episode of The Depot Dive, Ross McCorkle and Joe Clark lead off the show with a discussion about several aspects of the Steelers' 2024 schedule, which was officially revealed on Wednesday evening. This conversation included the oddities of having all divisional matchups over the final eight weeks, a pair of short weeks preceded by Ravens rivalry games, and much more. They also briefly discuss some oddsmakers predictions with the opening betting spreads now posted, and the Steelers being favored in just six games. They next move on to Cam Heyward reportedly missing voluntary workouts and requesting a contract extension. What would an extension look like? Will it be a distraction to the team? Are they in favor of an extension overall? They answer these questions and more on the topic. Finally, they discuss some ESPN projections posted by Mike Clay this past week in which the Steelers kind of remain the same team year over year with a good defense and a bad offense. May 15, 2024 - Season 14, Episode 132 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about some of the supposed 2024 schedule leaks for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the official version dropping on Wednesday night. If you believe the early leaks, which is dangerous to do, the Steelers will open on the road against the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos and that sets up great early-season storylines if those two games hold true. The Steelers will also supposedly play the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Christmas and that game will presumably be streamed on Netflix to out of market viewers. Throughout the show, supposed leaks come in concerning all of the Steelers 2024 road games so we go over those as they hit Twitter/X. We also go over what the early leaks show when it comes to the supposed 2024 bye week possibilities for the Steelers. Later in this show, Alex and I revisit the offseason situation the Steelers have with RB Najee Harris when it comes to him possibly receiving a contract extension before Week One on the heels of the team declining to pick up his fifth-year option for 2025. We revisit this topic to discuss if some sort of precedent might be involved should the team ultimately decide to sign Harris to an extension this offseason. In this Monday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers signing free agent CB Anthony Averett to a one-year contract after he participated in the team's annual rookie minicamp over the weekend on a tryout basis. With the Steelers 2024 rookie minicamp now in the books, Alex and I give our biggest takeaways to come out over the weekend. We focus mainly on the sides two of the team's draft picks played on the offensive line and what we hope that ultimately transpires into. The Steelers signed five of their seven 2024 draft picks over the weekend so Alex and I discuss that news and why there might be a little holdup in getting OT Troy Fautanu and OC Zach Frazier signed to their rookie contracts. Veteran OLB Bud Dupree won't be back in Pittsburgh this season, so we go over that news of him signing elsewhere over the weekend. The 2024 NFL schedule will officially be released on Wednesday, so Alex and I discuss the few games that have been announced so far.
