May 15, 2024 - Season 14, Episode 132 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about some of the supposed 2024 schedule leaks for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the official version dropping on Wednesday night. If you believe the early leaks, which is dangerous to do, the Steelers will open on the road against the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos and that sets up great early-season storylines if those two games hold true. The Steelers will also supposedly play the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Christmas and that game will presumably be streamed on Netflix to out of market viewers. Throughout the show, supposed leaks come in concerning all of the Steelers 2024 road games so we go over those as they hit Twitter/X. We also go over what the early leaks show when it comes to the supposed 2024 bye week possibilities for the Steelers. Later in this show, Alex and I revisit the offseason situation the Steelers have with RB Najee Harris when it comes to him possibly receiving a contract extension before Week One on the heels of the team declining to pick up his fifth-year option for 2025. We revisit this topic to discuss if some sort of precedent might be involved should the team ultimately decide to sign Harris to an extension this offseason. Several other minor topics not noted are also discussed in this 59-minute episode and we end it all by answering a few emails we have received from listeners. We discuss the perceived usage of the Steelers' tight ends in 2024 and what kind of seasons that could mean for both Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington. We spend a lot of time talking about stat predictions for Washington in 2024 and areas of his game he needs to improve in. With the Steelers having completed their second week of OTA practices for 2024, Alex and I go over the biggest takeaways from those sessions to this point. Will the Steelers running backs be used more in the passing game in 2024 and is there a chance they could wind up with two 1,000-yard rushers as well? We address those questions during this show. There has been more movement when it comes to the wide receiver market this past week, so Alex and I discuss that topic. We go over the latest speculation concerning Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton as part of that. We also talk about what the market price might look like for Steelers WR George Pickens a year from now and if the organization would really consider making him their highest paid player on the team by the start of the 2025 regular season.
