#010 John Lydon (Sex Pistols/Public Image Ltd)

39m · Published 16 Apr 16:53

To celebrate the first milestone (10 shows) in the lifespan of Life In The Stocks, Matt welcomes on to this week's show one of his all-time heroes: John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, from the Sex Pistols & Public Image Ltd. John's a complicated, contradictory and controversial figure, but he's also (as this conversation will hopefully prove) an intelligent, sensitive and caring human being - not to mention one of the most unique artists & songwriters the UK has ever produced. Never mind the bollocks, here's John Lydon...

#009 Joel O'Keeffe (Airbourne)

1h 13m · Published 11 Apr 15:17

There's two sides to Airbourne leader Joel O'Keeffe: the onstage rock 'n' roll mad man and the offstage rock 'n' roll mad man. However, behind these rock 'n' roll personas lies a thoughtful, intelligent and down-to-earth bloke, and that's the guy you'll hear in this conversation. And as long as you're alive, and as long as we're alive, rock 'n' roll will never die!!!

#006 Kyle Gass (Tenacious D/Actor)

55m · Published 06 Mar 11:35

Celebrated actor and musician Kyle Gass joins Matt for Episode Six of Life In The Stocks to discuss his extensive movie and music career. We hear all about his friendship with Tenacious D partner Jack Black, and what it was like to work with everyone from Tim Robbins and Cameron Crowe to Dave Grohl, Meatloaf and Dio. We are but men, Rock!!! (This was the first podcast ever recorded for this series, and to say we hadn't yet figured out the equipment is an understatement, hence the AWFUL quality of the audio. Apologies about that in advance, but please don't judge us too harshly. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?)

#003 Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!)

1h 10m · Published 09 Feb 00:00

In 2012, Against Me! singer Laura Jane Grace came out publicly in Rolling Stone magazine as transgender. To say the last five years have been chaotic would be an understatement. But, as her recent autobiography ‘Tranny’ reveals, Laura’s entire life has been one long rollercoaster. Here, she discusses the intimate details of that ride, from the turbulent teen years to the trials and tribulations of playing in an anarchist punk band and Against Me!’s ultimate rise to fame. She also opens up about her struggles with depression and gender dysphoria. Spoiler alert: this story has a happy ending.
