The Art Of Venting – Playing It Cool

16m · You Got This · 15 Feb 09:00

A topic I notice that keeps on arising for managers is how people handle frustration about – and with – fellow team members. We can’t read each other’s minds and we are human but it’s important to lead by example, and be fully responsible for your team’s perception across the business. In this solo episode, I uncover how to use a ‘buddy’ to vent effectively, the “so what” trigger question, as well as venting as an introvert vs extrovert. We all have the intention of doing good ultimately, so it’s about how you can help your colleagues see the impact they’re having. Don’t forget to sign up to the newsletter from our website for more insights (www.overtimeleader.com), and submit any questions to [email protected] for upcoming Q&A episodes – which are kept anonymous on the show! Hosted by Gillian Davis, co-author 'First Time Leader; Foundational Tools to Inspire and Enable Your New Team' this podcast is to inspire managers to step up and lead their teams. We talk to those on the front line and get managers to share what has worked, what hasn't and what resources they have tried and tested.
