S1,Ep3: "'Every failure opens another door"

If we are all in a rush to find our purpose, then what's the bloody point in this journey we're on!? In our twenties, we tend to feel lost and in a rush to make something of ourselves, but shouldn't it be the opposite of that? Shouldn't our twenties be the time to explore and try out new jobs!?

On this episode of How to Survive Your Twenties, Sam joins me to talk about her career. Sam worked as a Paralegal following what she thought was her passion in criminal law, to slowly find out that her passion laid elsewhere. Sam shares with us how she found herself almost by accident landing her dream role as an Occupational Therapist, but it wasn't always so straight forward. Initially she faced difficulties whilst studying for her degree, until she found the root cause of her struggles - dyslexia and "fell in love with learning for the first time."

Just goes to show that with a little bit of perseverance and self belief you can find yourself anywhere!

S1, Ep10: The Turning 30 Coach- “Put your middle finger up at society"

A very special episode where I have the privilege of talking to the Turning 30 Coach. Emma Wilson studied psychology and law with the aim of becoming a lawyer, but it wasn’t long before she realised that it couldn’t be further from what she really wanted out of life.
Emma began working as a career coach which is where the penny dropped. Many people in their twenties had approached Emma with a similar feeling of not being on the right path, and with their big 30th birthday approaching these feelings were becoming more and more prevalent.
Emma has since built a community of people and works hard to support them in their growth and transition from their twenties to their thirties.

If you have ever wondered what life coaching is all about and how you can benefit from it, then this is the episode for you!

S1. EP.9: “I thought my house was on fire, literally all the time”

A slightly different episode this week, both myself and my good friend Sophie explore the ins and outs of her OCD, and how CBT has really helped her to overcome the constant worry that her house is on fire. The majority of people believe that OCD is linked to cleanliness, when actually there is so much more to it. This episode is an eye-opener to what it is like to live with this type of anxiety. CBT is just one of the ways to help it, and it worked a treat for Sophie.

There are many ways to get help, don’t suffer in silence:

S1,Ep8: "I read 'The Secret' and everything changed"

Have you ever wondered what the law of attraction is all about and if it actually works?

This story is proof that mindset is everything. It doesn’t matter what age you start, if you’re passionate about something you should go for it and use the law of attraction to help you.

Gemma spent her twenties jobless, and as a single parent to her daughter Lexi.
Lexi was diagnosed with a rare disease by the age of two and shortly after, Gemma’s father was diagnosed with cancer. Her twenties were a battle to say the least, until coming across a book that changed her mindset forever. Gemma now runs her very own successful wedding and events business.
