58. Do I need a marketing strategy?

Strategy is a highly overused word, and in my opinion, it isn’t always a helpful one. It sounds complicated, inaccessible and a bit too clever! When you google the phrase Marketing Strategy you can get 927,000,000 results! I don’t know about you but I do not have the time to go through all of those so how can we make it simple?

In this episode I share how I have distilled down marketing strategy into the 5 step Marketing for Introverts model:

Your Values

What you do

Who you do it for

Your niche

Your story

From this simple process you can start to build marketing activities and an ongoing plan – and you can say no to the things that don’t help you. Take a listen and if you want to explore this in more depth you can buy the book here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CJKY81WD

This book is definitely for you if you run a small business based on your knowledge and expertise and you don’t like putting your face on your marketing. Based on the conversations I’ve had on the podcast, plus 25 years working in marketing as an introvert, I hope you find the advice and strategies enable you to market your business consistently and comfortably.

57. Making your business more effective with Charlotte WIlkinson

If you’ve heard me talk about finding time to create content, and how I found time to write my book, you’ll have heard me talk about how difficult I found it to outsource anything in my business, but how finally working with a VA was a major step for me.

So I was delighted to have a catch up with Charlotte, who is my VA, and talk about how that process works, which tools we use and how she helps her clients overcome the fear of outsourcing. If you are overwhelmed by paperwork, social media or anything else in your business maybe our conversation will help you take step to find the help you need to thrive.

Charlotte recommended Atomic Habits by James Clear which you can get here: https://uk.bookshop.org/a/8868/9781847941831

56. The importance of know, like and trust in your business

This episode is taken from my new book and I want to talk about the process of know, like and trust, especially if you are a service business owner. I talk about this a lot with my podcast guests and I often refer to it when talking about particular types of marketing – video for example or networking are great ways to build know, like and trust. It can be a frustrating process because it often takes time and sometimes in business we want everything to happen much quicker.

In this episode I talk about why it can help reduce the risk for your potential clients and I share my most simple tip for building trust in your business.

You can buy the book here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CJKY81WD

This book is definitely for you if you run a small business based on your knowledge and expertise and you don’t like putting your face on your marketing. 54. Lessons from running a launch campaign

I’ve spent the last few weeks launching my new book. It has been exciting but also a little strange. I was working on the manuscript for the book over a period of about 2 years. Most of the writing was done on my own in my home office so it was a really solitary activity. After spending such a long time working on it, it feels a little odd to have it actually out in the world.

Launching can be challenging! It’s a time to get very visible and really put a lot of energy and focus into marketing myself and my ideas.

In this episode I share my thoughts and lessons from running a launch campaign, from the mindset advice to the practical tips.

You can buy the book here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CJKY81WD

This book is definitely for you if you run a small business based on your knowledge and expertise and you don’t like putting your face on your marketing. Based on the conversations I’ve had on the podcast, plus 25 years working in marketing as an introvert, I hope you find the advice and strategies enable you to market your business consistently and comfortably.
