With a wealth of technical experience, he started his own production company called Light Em Up in 2019. Light Em Up specialises in stage lighting, sound, technical production, streaming, and festive lights. They offer design, installation, and supply of creative visual solutions, ranging from architectural light displays to nightclub installations, schools, and festivals.

Gron Koncert: The Touring Festival Managed by 700 Volunteers

In this episode we talk to Jacob Bostrup who is the crew chief for a touring festival called Gron Koncert.

Grøn Koncert (literally "Green Concert") is an annually recurring series of Danish one-day music festivals. What makes this festival incredibly unique is that the whole festival tours to 8 different locations around Denmark. Not only do they tour the whole production but the event is run by 700 volunteers which make up 98% of the staff that work at the event each year.

Join us in this captivating podcast as we engage in an insightful conversation with Danielle, a seasoned professional with a decade of experience in the live events. Danielle's journey commenced with her performances in large ice shows, which ignited a passion for production.

Since graduating with a first-class degree in stage management, Danielle has worked in a diverse range of roles within the field and has served as a stage manager, technician, artist liaison, venue management, and most recently, lead event and hires coordinator.

Since leaving university in 2018, Danielle’s track record includes stage managing three successful theatre tours, a residency at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a large-scale pantomime for the UK’s leading pantomime company. 

Currently, Danielle operates as a front of house manager and lead events coordinator at an Arts Centre in South Oxfordshire. The venue not only receives high class touring shows but also caters to the needs of numerous local businesses as an ideal events and conference venue. With her wealth of transferable industry knowledge, Danielle plans and manages the operation of such events within the venue, ensuring their execution and success.
