Beers and Beards Episode 152: Belleflower Finch and Thistle

1h 14m · Beers and Beards · 02 May 14:55

We're back after a short hiatus and David celebrates by drinking Belleflower Finch and Thistle.

David fell in love with Belleflower Brewing when he visited Portland, Maine, and was excited to see that they now distribute to Ohio. Belleflower Finch and Thistle is a dry hopped New England IPA, pouring pale golden hazy with aromas of big papaya, kiwi, pineapple, and stone fruit that will make you long for summer. The strong pale ale opens with flavors of grapefruit and other tropical citrus and stone fruit for a crispy taste that finishes with some light malt sweetness.

We chat about Gary's recent trips and Abby even makes a cameo. We also discuss the following news stories:

Historic distilling company Willow Run Bourbon to return to Cincinnati

Old Fitzgerald’s 25th Anniversary Bourbon Honors a Pivotal Time in Heaven Hill History

5 Underrated American Whiskey Brands You Need to Try in 2024

Beers and Beards Episode 153: Fretboard/Brink Electric Llama

We're back this week with a new episode, and David drinks a beer that is a collaboration between two of his favorite breweries, as Brink and Fretboard came together to produce Electric Llama.

Brink and Fretboard Electric Llama is a Bavarian Style IPA. This Bavarian IPA is moderate strength India Pale Ale made uniquely Bavarian by the use of new varietal German hops. Late additions of Tettnang and Calista hops give this ale notes of intense fruit and berries.

Gary also tells us a great story about how he got a private tour of the location of JFK's assassination when he was in Dallas.

We also discuss the following news stories:

  • BLUE MOON BEER DEBUTS BASEBALL ICE CREAM WITH A BUZZ
  • Meet 'The Mulligan,' the PGA Championship's official bourbon cocktail
  • Whiskey made with corn from the Field of Dreams is now available

Beers and Beards Epiosde 149: Great Lakes ' Conway’s Irish Ale' & Bourbon Lemonade

We survived the Facebook outage of 2024. That means go find us and like the page. This week we gear up and look ahead to St. Patrick's Day. David gets that good red beer in Conway’s Irish Ale. It takes him back to after prom getting a sixer of some Killians.

In a plot twist, Gary has Karrikin's Bourbon Lemonade. Should have been refreshing but you'll just have to hear him tell you how it is.

A new top bourbon was crowned by Barleycorn, whatever that is. Is it legit?

We shoot the breeze fill in the rest of the time with nonsense.

Enjoy
