You might be wondering, if this blog is exclusive for women. No, it is not. This note is not about gender, but about language. I have struggled to get my financial life together for ever! I read all those books with big words like ā€œassetsā€, ā€œliabilitiesā€, ā€œprofitā€, ā€œgross payā€ and what notā€¦ It did intimidate me. Ā Short background about me: I do not have any any any financial education. But here I was ready to rock my bank account. And I did not know how! I was in a thirteen-year long relationship and for some reason finances and financial health never crossed my mind. We lived day by day, never saved and we did not have nothing to fight for by the time we decided to be apart. On top of that, I come from a typical household in which parents do not save and in fact I would hear them fight over money all the time. I did not want that for myself, so I never wanted to hold those conversations with my ex-partner, it was the elephant in the room. But I was asking myself, how can I make it out of this trap? I want to be able to have a better life and be more strategic with my money. Ā Eventually, I did exit the relationship and I had to start from scratch. For all those single women out thereā€¦ I feel you! It is not easy to pay it all by yourself. We had a fifty-fifty rule, everyone knows that one flat for one cost you double then the same flat for two. Dahhh! Anyway, after 3 years single, I can say that I have managed to get my financial freedom and I can proudly scream that I have a healthy financial life ā€“ for now. I will show you what worked for me and hopefully, some of these ideas work for you!

Sustainable workplace: peer to peer recognition

Sustainable workplaces have a lot to do with a healthy company culture and embracing the right values goes hand in hand with longevity and so sustainability. One of the most important aspects of a healthy company culture - in my view - Ā is peer to peer appreciation. It is not easy to nurture, as sometimes we can be competitive beings but if companies get it right, a real inclusive and team work environment can flourish.
