ArTEEtude: Unveiling the Spectrum of Art, Culture and Mind. West Cork´s Art and Culture Podcast by Detlef Schlich.

by Detlef Schlich

Join Detlef Schlich, a visionary visual artist and ritual designer, as he navigates the complex intersections of art, science, and human consciousness. Based in West Cork and celebrated for his essays on shamanism, art, and digital culture, Detlef uses his expertise in performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film to explore creative processes with a diverse array of guests.

ArTEEtude now expands its exploration to include art history and the scientific disciplines that touch upon art, such as psychology and neuroscience, bringing a deeper understanding of how art impacts and reflects our cognitive functions. Episodes also delve into a wider range of musical expressions, connecting melodies to the creative spirit.

Each week, we not only promote and explore groundbreaking works but also engage directly with our listeners through Q&A sessions, where curiosity leads the dialogue. We dissect philosophical quirks, celebrate the minute yet significant details of the artistic endeavor, and connect deeply with the rhythms that drive creativity.

In an era dominated by brief digital interactions, ArTEEtude offers an intimate portal to the vast ocean of the creative mind, inviting listeners to a journey where art meets science, and questions find answers. Join us as we uncover the layers of creativity and thought that define and sustain the artistic community.

They will talk about his life and experience in Berlin. About the obstacles in a musician life and how to survive as a music producer, teacher and Rock´n Roller. Dirk Schlömer (*1960 in Cologne) is a German guitarist, composer, songwriter, music producer and music teacher. He is the producer, singer-songwriter of the post-pandemic kölsche carnival top 10 song “Pandemie, ich kann nimmie!”

Among being a guitar player and lead singer in rock bands, his second heart and soul is beating for acoustic art projects. His sound artwork is inspired for an instant by the neoclassical composition “Amygdala – Memento Mori”, with prayers, mantras and death rituals from different cultures or hypnotic music forms. Among far more projects his increased focus is on pedagogical work with children and teenagers, e.g. guitar courses at Villa Offensiv e. V. and ufa-Kindercircusschule e.V. Musical supervision of the KinderCircusfestival in the ufa-Fabrik Berlin, workshop “Music and Production” in context of NetD@ys Berlin Europa.

ArTEEtude is West Cork´s first art, fashion and design podcast created and produced by Detlef Schlich. He will dive and discover with us and Lou McMahon into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind. In these three podcast episodes, McMahon and Schlich talk about her childhood and early inspiration in Six Mile Bridge, Co. Clare. They will talk about her online experience as a singer-songwriter and this strange feeling in a Lock-down to sing to an audience without an audience alone just in front of a camera. Eventually, they will speak about Mahon´s aspiration as a media composer and more. At the end of each episode, we will listen to one of Lou McMahon´s songs.

Lou McMahon is a singer-songwriter, media music composer, session vocalist, animal lover and culture reporter from County Clare in Ireland. Lou's songs showcase a multitude of melodic riches in a vibrant package, described in the media as a "jazz trad crossover" Clare People and"Pop oriented" allmusic.com. Lou'shaunting voice combined with thought-provoking lyrics and beautiful melodies makes her ''one to watch'' Irish Daily Mail.

Schlich is Visual Artist, Film Maker and Ritual Designer, living and loving in West Cork and best known for his Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culture and the video installation Transodin´s Tragedy.
