Sharing is Self-caring [55]
23m · Published“Sharing is Caring” is a common saying that many of us have heard from childhood which is used to remind and encourage us to be generous. In this episode titled 'Sharing is Self-caring' as a play on words, I try to discuss how we might practice generosity with ourselves by sharing our needs and desires with others in ways that might bring us greater wholeness and health.

[Bonus] The Bleed: Short Story & Reflections
25m · PublishedI’ve had a LOT of stuff that has literally taken place on New Year’s Day, but I’ve had many other things that I’ve been pondering and processing through even before that, during the holidays season. I recently wrote a short story The Bleed which I believe best conveys the feelings and emotions that I’ve been working through. So for this episode I have chosen to share that story and my reflections on it to try and unpack its symbolism and meaning with my hopes to express in words that which cannot be simply spoken.

Linguistic Diversity w/ guest David Smith [54]
55m · PublishedWe all think about linguistic diversity to a point when we notice various differences in the ways that people say things from state to state and from one region to another. We find it interesting with a fleeting thought or we might share a brief engagement; a bit of banter between ourselves and someone else we know with whom we have a similar background. However, this is likely as deep as it goes. Below the surface, past the superficial, there's a lot to unpack. In this episode David Smith and I try to broach the subject with a discussion about the appreciation for the many ways that people speak as an expression of authenticity and one's own identity, but also ways in which we can face discrimination/stereotyping from our peers and with that some of the opportunities that we may have to come to a greater understanding and acceptance of the varied manners of speech that we ourselves hold as well as those around us.

Labor Day Special! [53]

Ally or Friend? [51]
25m · PublishedA true and genuine friend is likely an ally, yet an ally does not necessarily have to be a friend. Perhaps it is through relationship, through friendship in which love can be modeled and demonstrated where so much of real growth and change takes place. I just want to be a good person: To love people well with empathy and compassion, but I fall short and I don't love people nearly as well as I would like to. I hope to do better, but I don’t believe that I can hope to do this on my own. These and other such musings I try to discuss and share in this episode.

[Bonus EP] Lived Experience | Some Thoughts on Depression
20m · PublishedSince ‘therapy’ terms have become popularized, words such as depression can get thrown around creating misunderstandings and confusion as to what it is and what it isn’t. There’s not one singular face of depression or way that it gets expressed. Depression can often look differently than we might expect. In this bonus episode I share some thoughts on what it is that I know and believe that I understand about the nature of depression as a mental illness from my knowledge and experience as a part of an ongoing discussion/dialog.

[Bonus EP] Neutral Language: Reflections on Health & Support w/ Heather Craig
21m · PublishedIn this bonus episode I share some reflections on my 50th entry with my conversation with Heather Craig: discussing about the language that we use, the importance of having conversation with others about matters of curiosity, how we might listen to people’s lived experiences as to come to a greater understanding, but how our lack of understanding that may persist doesn’t need to keep us from extending love and respect towards others.
