The Director of Sustainability for Innisfree Hotels, Bethany Edwards, joins us in the studio to highlight the Sea Turtle Baby Shower this Saturday June 1st from 9am - 12pm at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.  Over 20 organizations are coming together for this free hands-on educational baby shower to educate our locals and visitors about the nesting habits of sea turtles and the do's and don'ts when visiting our beaches.

Chief of Animal Services, Randy Lambert, joins the Pensacola Expert Panel to discuss Community Cats Day and the Gulf Breeze Sertoma Club Fishing Rodeo.  Residents of Santa Rosa County are encouraged to safely and humanely trap ferel felines from around our area and have them spayed during the Coummunity Cats Day event where up to 3 cats per resident will be examined by a veterinarian and spayed to help control the population of ferel cats in our county.  The Sertoma Club Fishing Rodeo will be happening on June 1-2 where adoption fees for dogs and cats will be waived.  Donations, volunteers, and fosters are always needed.

Margaret-Anne West from Fiesta Pensacola joins the panel to highlight the 75th annual Fiesta Days.  Don't miss the Surrender of the City in Phineas Phoggs (Seville Quarter) at 7:15pm May 29th and join us downtown for the Grand Fiesta Parade Friday May 31st at 7pm.  

The Fiesta organization was formed to celebrate the founding of Pensacola: America’s First Settlement.

In 1559, Spanish Conquistador, Don Tristan de Luna, established Pensacola as the first European settlement in the United States. Fiesta plans and produces over 20 events throughout the year with the help of a plethora of volunteers. These events are designed to appeal to all ages and interests, as well as promote tourism for the area.  A 10-day heritage celebration, beginning right after Memorial Day each year, is one of the oldest and largest heritage festivals in the State of Florida. Additionally, the Pensacola Crawfish Festival and Pensacola Seafood Festival celebrate the industries and resources we are proud to have in our city.

Kelsey Griffin from the marketing department at Balanced Brands visits the studio to tell us about a great event happening tomorrow night.  Casino Beach Bar and Grille has partnered with Pensacola Beach Songwriters for Veterans Unplugged;  an evening dedicated to supporting our military personnel in need.  Veterans Unplugged brings together the power of music, storytelling, and community support to make a difference in the lives of veterans facing challenges today. A representative from Rock4Vets will be on hand to accept donations and highlight the work their organization is doing in our community.  Also, the Blue Angels Air Show is right around the corner and tickets are available for an unbelievable viewing experience.

Dr. Michael Payne, Department Head for the Business Department at PSC, joins the Pensacola Expert Panel to highlight the degree and certificate programs available now at your local PSC campus.  Are you an entrepreneur dreaming of owning your own business?  Pensacola State College can help with over 300 scholarships and flexible class schedules to fit your needs.  PSC can even fast-track you to UWF after earning your associates degree.  Registration is still open for Summer Sessions starting June 11th and June 26th.  Fall starts as early as August 19th, but you can also start in September or October.
