Caroll Montgomery also known as Buddy Love is one of GUGO's team members. Buddy served 28 years for murder in various federal prisons throughout the US. While his journey initially encompassed a share of volatile behavior in order to thrive in prison, his personal faith in God led to his constructive transformation within the confines of a prison cell. His personal experience at Red Onion, a federal prison in Virginia led to formation of a program for youth named the Young Men Incorporated. Buddy became a light in the midst of darkness and an agent of change to help redirect the lives of youth. His transformation eventually led to his release on good behavior. Buddy continues to be God and passion driven in his work with youth. As a Credible Messenger for GUGO, he continues to mentor youth within the confines New Beginnings Youth Center in Maryland and the Youth Service Center in DC. He hopes to help youth redirect their lives to become assets to their families and communities instead of liabilities to an already failing criminal justice system.

Donald Stevenson has worked to serve and uplift his community for over 10 years.  He is the Co-founder of Sons of Life and Brand Ambassador for the DC or Nothing community initiatives.  His service in the community humbly started with him serving as a Junior Roving Leader for The Department of Parks and Recreation (CPR) and quickly flourished into a life commitment to empower his community.  He is certified in Positive Youth Development, suicide prevention; and a, Certified Life Skills Facilitator (A.R.I.S.E. & Points of Life Youth Leadership Institute) and Professional Community Gang Outreach/Intervention Specialist.

Donald takes pride in assisting youth at the Department of Youth and Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) with life skills, educational, conflict resolution and rehabilitation services.  He has held countless workshops with DYRS youth to discuss mental health concerns, their emotional triggers and provide strategies they can implement to help establish and maintain safe and healthy living.

Mr. Stevenson has received numerous accolades for his work in the community and with youth such as the Peacemaker Award and Dedicated Youth Development Specialist of the Year.

I have 15 years of financial industry experience with a couple director roles at for profit and non profit companies. I have an undergrad in finance and an MBA in management/finance.

I'm currently the Director of Asset Management for a start up Real estate development firm.

Personally, I've invested in single family real estate development since 2006. Currently I'm a small business owner of a Laundromat that's worth a million plus dollars. I've expanded my real estate holdings into commercial buildings. I serve as a small business consultant and a real estate developer

Tim Day is a native of Columbia, MD. Upon graduation from high

school, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from North

Carolina A & T State University. He attended Southern Baptist

Theological Seminary, and is a candidate for his Masters of

Divinity Degree. 

Tim is a successful sales professional in corporate America, and

has earned multiple accolades as a top business developer in the

telecommunications industry. It was Tim’s combined passion for

marketing and theology that prompted him to start The Lyrical

Coffee House, LLC.  The Lyrical Coffee House is a platform for

gospel artists of all different genres-music, spoken-word, clean

comedy to showcase talents and where audiences enjoy their

Dannielle Brown Bio

Dannielle Brown’s #Justice4JaylenBrown movement, like so many other hashtag movements, was sparked by personal tragedy. On Oct. 4, 2018, Duquesne University law enforcement officers failed to protect Brown’s vulnerable student-athlete son, Marquis “Jaylen” Brown, resulting in his death just one day after his 21st birthday. Due to a lack of officer-worn body cameras and the university’s refusal to support an independent investigation, Brown may never fully know the circumstances that led to Jaylen’s death.

Brown has channeled her grief into preventing another tragedy at the hands of an unprepared and unresponsive university. What started as a quest to get answers about her son’s death has evolved into a national campaign for change to the way institutions of higher education interact with students — especially students of color — and their parents in times of crisis. Brown acts on behalf of all mothers who have lost a child to questionable or unjust circumstances.

Brown is not just the mother of a student who inexplicably died while in the care of university law enforcement officers; she holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in psychology, she is a former law enforcement officer, and she is currently a Department of Defense employee. Her unique set of personal circumstances and professional background has quickly centered her as an important advocate for campus police reform and expansion of mental health resources for students and staff.

Since July 4, 2020, Brown has maintained a hunger strike to 

demand #Justice4JaylenBrown and safety for all students.

She established a 24/7 encampment of volunteers to amplify

her mission, and she has already influenced several major

universities to make changes to their campus safety

protocols. She regularly gives talks and collaborates with

students who want to make their own campuses safer and

more inclusive.

Brown has three demands for school officials so that not one

more student becomes a hashtag:

1. Ensure a transparent and independent investigation

with full parental access to all university records

relating to student incidents.

2. Equip all campus law enforcement officers with body

cameras.

3. Require credentialed crisis response training,

including mental health intervention, for all campus

law enforcement officers and other first responders.
