Kellan takes Brett back to the beginning and shares how he got his start- From his first TV show, the HBO comedy series “The Comeback”, starring Lisa Kudrow, to his first film, “Stick It”, starring Jeff Bridges. They also discuss his early roles in the movies “Accepted”, opposite Justin Long & Jonah Hill, and “Prom Night”, opposite Brittany Snow & Scott Porter, as well as his critically-acclaimed HBO miniseries “Generation Kill”. Then they talk all about “Twilight”, the blockbuster, 5-film franchise that catapulted Kellan’s career. He shares behind-the-scenes stories about how he got the role of “Emmet Cullen”, what it was like making the movies, and how they changed his life. This week’s guest Shane Bitney Crone joins Brett to talk all about his new documentary “Bridegroom”, which he is the subject of and also produced. “Bridgroom”, directed by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, tells the story of Shane’s relationship with Tom Bridegroom. The documentary first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it was endorsed by President Bill Clinton, and then the Los Angeles premiere was held at The Academy in October. Following its theatrical run, “Bridegroom” aired on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, and is now available on Netflix and at all RedBox locations. Shane discusses growing up in Montana, moving to Los Angeles, meeting Tom, and their six-year relationship. He also talks about how the documentary came to be and how his life has changed as a result of it. Brett and Shane are joined by Shane’s friends Coleen McMahon & Chelsea Cannell, who share their memories of Tom, as well as stories about how they first met Shane. The podcast closes with Coleen’s original song “Beautiful Boy”, which she performs in the documentary and was written in memory of Tom. Be sure to watch “Bridegroom” on Netflix. Kyle explains how director Robert Rodriguez chose him to write “Machete Kills” and what the process was like. Then Brett and Jeff take a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about how they met in 1997 when Jeff was Brett’s camp counselor at Summer Discovery UCLA. They talk about how Brett interned on Jeff’s first movie “Cry Wolf” in 2003, which Jeff got to direct after winning the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. Jeff discusses his experience making that movie, which filmed in his home state of Virginia and starred Julian Morris, Lindy Booth, Jared Padalecki, & Jon Bon Jovi.
