About our host:
Desiring to see local and global change, Tekia Thompson found herself graduating college and moving to Juarez, Mexico, serving as a young intern, where she learned to lead teams in building houses for those in need. Since then, she has worked for various nonprofits in her career including serving in rural Appalachia performing community outreach and overseas in Poland teaching English. She now enjoys her work at Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park as Assistant Manager, sharing the story of fair trade and the voices of artisan makers and their families from over 40 countries.

Prior to joining the team, she was an avid customer and will tell you she has consumed more fair trade coffee and chocolate than one should be allowed! She is passionate about empowering people, building community, and inspiring hope! As as host for AMPLIFY LIVE, she hopes to shed light on the work of the doers, dreamers, makers and believers who are changing the world in their neighborhoods and beyond.
