B2B 23: Supporting Real Estate Agents with Heather Kelly

25m · Published 05 Aug 20:00

Introduction to episode

Broker-to-Broker Real Estate podcast is where we have real, raw conversations with industry leaders, finding out how to connect, support, lead, and ultimately make an impact and drive results in the lives of your agents.

In this episode, we reached out to Heather Kelly who was all the way from Longview, Texas where she started and grew her business, the Texas Realty Executives. She's been in business for a long time and was a Top Producing agent, and she developed the ideal company that she would be building.

Heather talked about the policies and philosophy that their company runs in the office, that they "Provide a superior level of service with transparency to our agents" They started with 60 agents strong and pushing to get a 100 within the end of this year, 2021.

Podcast episode summary

Below are the summary and talking points of this episode.

  • Heather shared her past goal in the industry that she only work as hard as paychecks reflect.
  • She also shared how she has enabled her agents to go out there and take those extra steps be with their commission.
  • Heather told the policies that they should change apart from the traditional brokerages around her area.
  • While she love and care for every single agent, she runs the company with the "No-snowflake Policy"
  • Briefly, it's appropriate or conducive to a healthy environment, to have the agents concerned if one is getting a better deal than the other, if one is getting special treatment more than the other.
  • The No-snowflake Policy simply is not having things kept as secret, so as things like commissions don't get conspiracies or mistreatment for unfair shares.
  • Nathan and Heather talked about how TRE filtered its agents, and if one does get accepted, how the company handles the newly hired employee.
  • Heather shares her greatest lesson for the past six months (Considering the COVID-19 pandemic) and how they operated and took care of their customer service.
  • Transparency brought the security and safety of the company. No gimmicks, no red tapes, no dishonesty.
  • The more transparency that TRE offer them, the more production they get out of them, the more real connections they get out of them.
  • As a broker, you would need a clear vision and it needs to look totally different; you need to look and be authentically happy on what you're creating.
  • Be very passionate on what your heart says, may it be arts, kids or whatsoever.
  • Heather talked about her most expensive lesson as a broker.
  • Think about your agents like you would want to be treated, whenever you were just starting in the business, like don't model yourself after any other broker you had.
  • You need to grow with your agents, put yourself in the process and understand that you need to humble yourself into honesty, grace and transparency.

B2B 22: What would real estate look like five years from now?

29m · Published 13 May 22:00

Introduction to episode

Broker-to-Broker Real Estate podcast is where we have real, raw conversations with industry leaders, finding out how to connect, support, lead, and ultimately make an impact and drive results in the lives of your agents.

In this episode, we have Phil Duke who was raised in Alabama, where he started and grew his business, the 1st Class Real Estate. Before becoming who he is today, he entered the military and still continuously serves as an Army National Guard Reservist (just got promoted to Captain Duke a few days after this podcast was recorded!). He lives with his wife and two boys (one- and five-year-olds) in Northport, Alabama.

Phil talked about his real estate brokerage and how he was able to make it prosper even in the midst of the pandemic (Fun fact: 1st Class Real Estate experienced a 300% growth in sales in only a year). The secret? It’s all about agent empowerment. Find out exactly what he means in this episode!

Podcast episode summary

Below are the summary and talking points of this episode.

  • Phil shared his thoughts about the current state of the real estate industry.
  • He also shared about the traditional real estate industry being broken, primarily because we don’t guide the agents well in their journey.
  • Phil told the story of how he started venturing out and create a brokerage firm himself, after realizing that he couldn’t grow as a person and as a broker if he did it all.
  • Instead of focusing on getting more listings, Phil focused on teaching his agents, guiding them thoroughly on the first three transactions before letting them on their own.
  • Making agents believe that they can close their first deal within the first three months is what can convince them to stay with you.
  • Teaching agents at their own pace is a good way for them to learn information without overwhelming them with it.
  • Using a technology that everyone can use is another way for agents to be encouraged to learn the basics of closing a deal.
  • As leaders, we can’t spoon-feed. We can only provide the right conditions for agents to thrive. They have the choice if they want to thrive.
  • Recognize which one of the agents is more motivated, and be more focused on teaching them because chances are, they would keep all of them to heart.
  • Being an effective leader means getting into the correct mindset: why are you doing this? Why do you need more agents?
  • Hiring a coach may be an expensive way to spend money, but it provides life-long benefits. Phil highly encourages everyone to hire a coach.
  • Instead of learning everything all on your own, find the right coach/mentor who already did the hard work and learn from their expertise instead. It saves time and money in the long term. “Rip and duplicate.”
  • Phil shared what the next level of success for him would look like.

B2B 20: How to generate online leads for real estate agents

36m · Published 28 Apr 19:00

Introduction to episode

Broker-to-Broker Real Estate podcast is where we have real, raw conversations with industry leaders, finding out how to connect, support, lead, and ultimately make an impact and drive results in the lives of your agents.

In this episode, we have welcomed back Randy Caroll, the strategic partner and channel sales manager of CHIME Technology, the lead agnostic IDX-CRM solution that helps brokerages in the different aspects of their business, such as lead generation, ad campaigns, follow up leads, and more. Chime basically helps you find online leads through various strategies that fit your needs.

Randy introduces the nature of CHIME, what it does, and the future plans they have as a business and as a brand. If you want to have a one-stop-shop for all things online lead generation, listen to this podcast now!

 Podcast episode summary

Below are the summary and talking points of this episode.

  • Randy talked about the nature of CHIME Technology, what they do as a brand, and how they help brokerages in finding online leads.
  • CHIME offers a powerful CRM and automation tool that can thoroughly help real estate agents to do their job without getting a watered-down version of the service, unlike other brands where you have to pay to enjoy it fully.
  • One of the strengths of CHIME is their source reporting, wherein brokers can see which lead sources generate the most leads and zero in their available resources for that.
  • CHIME also helps monitor agent productivity--their calls, follow-ups, closed deals, and more, which helps brokers in training and evaluating their agents.
  • Randy talked about how their CRM tool can be installed both via mobile app and desktop, so agents can use both as a form of communication and record-keeping.
  • Brokerage owners can also use CHIME to track all of their enterprises from different locations in one place. No need to open a new account for every location, which is often seen in other competitors.
  • CHIME recently partnered with Brokermint, a real estate back office management software, to expand their already vast repertoire of services.
  • CHIME has live webinars and training every week, where agents and brokers can log in, ask a question, and they will be answered by a support person immediately.
  • Ultimately, technologies such as CHIME should enhance the ability to build relationships with buyers and sellers.
  • At the end of the day, no CRM tool is perfect. You just have to take the time to make one platform work for you and add your personal touch to it.
  • One of the challenges that clients may encounter with CHIME is the learning curve, which is a common issue with any piece of technology or software.
  • Randy talks about the challenges they currently have and how they plan to cope with them this year.
