25m · Published 24 Aug 19:32
WELCOME to the first episode of Founders in Focus!  We are kicking off in style with Mr. Darren Tate, the founder of Suitability - a CIC which provides job interview clothing for men across the North East of England, absolutely FREE of charge!  As our journey with UniBubble has progressed over the past 3 months, Darren has always been on hand to give advice and inspire us.  That's why we wanted him as our very first guest! Having grown up in the North East, Darren has always felt a strong bond with the people in his local community and can often be found doing something selfless for the benefit of his neighbours.  Over the course of the episode, Darren gives us a detailed overview of his personal and professional background before explaining what Suitability is and why he started it.  After seeing the benefits of women's charity SmartWorks, Darren set out to offer a similar, bespoke service to help disadvantaged men in the North East get off of universal credit and find meaningful employment.  Darren also touches on various subjects surrounding entrepreneurship, such as developing a growth mindset and the importance of having a solid support structure. If you like what you've heard this week, be sure to listen to more inspirational startup tales on the next episode, every Tuesday at 07:00 UK time!
