Welcome to Girls Take on Law! We’re Gabrielle and Lauren, Future Trainee Solicitors. We’re two girls who are taking on the legal world, striving for success, overcoming obstacles and having fun in the process! In this podcast no topic is off limits. We’ll be sharing stories, giving advice and inviting guests on, to discuss all things from Undergrad, LPC, Paralegal Life, TC Applications, Assessment Centres, Networking, Rejections and the Social side of being young professionals in Law. Those topics are just to name a few, but this is going to be a light-hearted & chatty podcast, giving you a true insight into us as people, how we got to where we are, and how you can get there too! Season 1 Finale! In this final episode of our first season, we answer a dilemma from a listener who is finishing year 11 and is ready to start her legal journey. We advise on things we wish we'd have known back then, what we'd change or regret about our own journeys, and why your future goals/pathway shouldn't be set in stone. We share our top tips and advice on how to approach a legal career from this age/sixth form, and the 'musts' you need to be doing. Finally, we touch upon our own personal and career goals for the next 5 years, as well as the next steps for the podcast itself. We go into depth about interviews, group tasks, presentations, and written in-tray exercises - we've both had experience of in-person AC's and virtual ones too, so all bases are covered. Finally we touch upon those competitive vibes from certain candidates on the day, how to deal with them, and how not to fall into the trap of being one of them.
