Ep #135: What can you create today and sale tomorrow

12m · Published 16 May 12:00

Are you looking for ways to make some extra cash? In this episode, I share my personal experience of starting a side hustle by selling jewelry. You don't need to have everything planned out or have all the bells and whistles to create a side hustle and make extra money. All you need is a willingness to take action and a little creativity.

I started selling jewelry without any prior experience in making it. I went to a craft store, bought some beads and hooks, made two pairs of earrings, and sold them to my coworkers for $7 each. I made $14 that day and continued to sell jewelry at my job, my mom's job, festivals, and artist shows. You can start a side hustle with something as simple as making jewelry and selling it for a profit.

My approach to creating a side hustle is simple. I teach from my own experience and don't follow a laundry list of steps that can be overwhelming. Instead, I encourage listeners to start with what they have in their house or with a small amount of money, like $7. Go to a craft store like Michael's and find the lowest-priced item, such as beads and hooks, to make earrings and sell them for a profit. The key is to reinvest the profit and keep selling to pay bills and make more money.

If you found this episode helpful and want more content on how I created my own side hustle, let me know. Creating a side hustle is simple and just requires the right mindset.

Don't miss out on this episode!

Ep #134: How you can really start a business online and make extra money

11m · Published 09 May 11:00

Are you looking for a way to make extra money online? Well, I have some exciting news for you! In the latest episode of the Hello C.S. Dorsey podcast, I discuss how to start a business online and make extra money by creating PDF printables.

I share my personal experience with experimenting with selling PDF printables during a Black Friday sale, and how I found success. I recommend starting with a PDF download, workbook, or worksheet that solves a problem for your target audience. To create PDF printables, I suggest using Canva, which has beautiful templates that you can customize. For delivery, I recommend using ConvertKit, which allows you to collect payments and deliver the PDF to the customer.

I also provide advice on how to validate the product and drive traffic to it. I suggest starting with organic traffic sources, such as your email list or social media followers, before investing in ads. I also suggest testing the product by giving it away for free before switching to a paid product.

In conclusion, creating PDF printables is a great way to start an online business and make extra money. By following my advice, you can create a successful business by starting small and gradually building up to the ultimate product. So, what are you waiting for?

Ep #133: What do you want from me?

14m · Published 02 May 16:00

Hey there, my dear listeners! It's your host here, and I'm thrilled to be back with another episode of the Hello C.S. Dorsey Podcast.

Today, I want to talk about the future of the podcast and ask for your feedback.

The subject line for today's episode is "What's Next for the Hello C.S. Dorsey Podcast?" Many of you have been with me since the beginning, and I want to thank you for your support and encouragement. I couldn't have made it this far without you.

Reflecting on the past 133 episodes, I realize I've had my ups and downs. But what kept me going was the requests to be on the show. I plan to continue having guests on the show, but I also want to do more solo episodes. However, I'm a multi-passionate person with no specific niche, so I'm unsure what to discuss.

One topic that I'm excited to explore more is budgeting and saving money. It's a shift from my usual entrepreneurship and business topics, but I believe it's important to talk about. That's why I'm asking for your feedback. I've included a survey in the show notes, and I would love to hear what you want to hear more about and what type of guests you would like to hear from.

I also want to be more consistent with my episodes and deliver them weekly for you. But I need your help to hold me accountable and provide encouragement. I'm excited about the growth of the podcast and can't wait to see what the future holds.

To wrap things up, I want to share a quote from one of my guests: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that count." I believe that this quote perfectly captures the spirit of the podcast and the journey that we're all on.

So, my dear listeners, I encourage you to play this episode and fill out the survey in the show notes. Let me know what you think and what you want to hear more of. And if you've overcome obstacles in your business or had a "hello moment" in your personal or professional life, I invite you to be a guest on the show. You can find the guest form and my email below, and connect with me on Instagram. I don't post often, but I welcome your direct messages.

Thank you for listening, and I'll see you in the next episode!
