Episode 89: Louise H Reid & Melanie Perry - Military Lifestyle Mentor

54m · Published 03 Mar 17:00
Melanie Perry is a Canadian military wife, trained elementary school teacher, and entrepreneur.
In 2014, Melanie and her husband were eagerly awaiting the birth of their second son AND another military relocation. It was then that she decided that although she had dreamed of being a teacher since her own childhood, teaching in a conventional classroom wasn’t what she wanted for herself anymore. Between many more future moves and raising her two young sons, Melanie set her sights on something out of the box that would allow her to be a constant for her family in a life of change while still fulfilling her own professional goals. Since then, she has dabbled in network marketing, worked as a civilian for the Department of National Defense, volunteered with the Canadian Military Wives Choir and, most recently Ability Dogs Canada, and begun her own work-from-home Virtual Assistant business.
But Melanie’s newest and arguably most exciting journey is the launch of her own one-of-a-kind business, “This Dandelion Life” – an online space and mentorship program for other military spouses and Moms. Combining her passions for teaching, personal development, mindfulness, and the power of “intentional optimism”, Melanie is linking arms with as many incredible women as she can. She is passionate about sharing the lessons she has learned in her 15 years as a military spouse and helping others learn the power of mastering their own mindset.
