He's the proud owner of one of 2019's most impressive KOs, widely recognized as the best head-kick knockout of that year. Ross defeated Shahin Atamov on June 25, 2022 to become Karate Combat's Middleweight Champion.

After graduating from The University of Rhode Island with degrees in Political Science and Economics, Steve began his professional career working as an Analyst in with the Research and Development Group at the Providence Journal Company. In 2006, after 27 years at the Journal Company, the last 15 as Corporate Director of Marketing Research & Business Development, Steve left to consult in Marketing and Communications strategies. Steve joined Keller Williams and the real estate world in 2010, receiving his license in February of that year. During his tenure at Keller Williams Realty Steve was twice named Cultural Icon for his efforts in planning and managing the annual Red Day, the day of community service for the agency. Steve was appointed to the Agent Leadership Council in 2013 and served as the Chair of the Tech Committee. He currently serves as the Technology Liaison for the agency, bringing new agents up to speed with our systems and models and training all agents on the new KW applications being introduced. He is also a three-time BOLD graduate and was the third-highest agent in closed properties for 2017 and 2018. Luis H. Zayas is the Robert Lee Sutherland Chair in Mental Health and Social Policy. Zayas was dean of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work from 2012 to 2022. He also holds an appointment as professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Dell Medical School of The University of Texas at Austin. Zayas has held several national leadership roles, as president of the Society for Social Work and Research (2020-2022), president of the St. Louis Group for Excellence in Social Work Education and Research (served two terms 2016-2018; 2018-2020); member of the board of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (elected as Fellow in 2012), and member-at-large of the executive committee of the National Association of Deans and Directors of schools and programs in social work. Zayas was identified in a 2019 report (Journal of Social Service Research ) as one of the most influential contemporary social work scholars.
