In this episode, I get to know Shana a little better after meeting her in Orlando last year for a financial conference. She sat front row as I presented my session about getting started as a YouTuber, and since then her channel has really grown!! We dive into her biggest mistakes and she shares amazing tips about budgeting in a way that you WON'T HATE! 

We definitely have a lot in common since Shana is a child of Jamaican immigrants and had to figure out money later on in life. But her family's business and her mom's efforts to teach her how money works did give her a bit of an early start.

Natalie is the creator of "Financially Savvy in 20 Minutes", a platform that tells her story of struggling to make it in L.A. being in an immigrant family and learning the tough life lessons that come from not having a financial education. She created a non-profit that helps teenage girls pay for their dream prom experience, and later published a book, a podcast, and is now featured in - not one - but, TWO TED Talks! Natalie's story not only inspires me, but shows me what you can do when you are determined to succeed but refuse to forget the community you come from!

Sarah is known on YouTube and all over the internet as "Budget Girl," and she has put ALL the details of her personal finance journey out there for the world to see. She has an incredibly inspiring story about learning from past money mistakes, being low-income for most of her life and STILL managing to pay of over $33,000 of debt by creating a frugality mindset and finding super smart money saving hacks wherever she could. Sarah keeps it so real with me on this episode and reminds us all that a little frugality goes a long way!

Melissa Jean-Baptiste is a NYC high school teacher who has a truly creative side that she expresses through a brand called Millennial in Debt. Wanting to do more than just chase clout, Melissa decided that posting content about money and debt could help so many young people out there struggling to figure out money and especially those with piles of student loan debt. After paying off $102,000 in student loans, Melissa bought a house and is super proud of her big ticket purchase and the journey she took to get to where she is now. Melissa and I talk about the importance of being authentic on YouTube, creating her web series about money problems for recent college grads, teaching NYC and so much more!

Jully-Alma Taveras is the ambitious Latina behind the platform called "Investing Latina." Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Jully has so much in common with me! After meeting in person and working together on a few projects, I've come to know Jully well and can truthfully say that she's just as sweet, sincere and smart as she sounds on this episode! We talk about her past obsession with Louboutins and how she moved beyond the belief that material things define you. She crushed her debt and began aggressively investing and then decided that it was important for her to share this with others in hopes of inspiring them to make similar financial changes in their lives for the better!
