The "Food Babe" Investigates and Unravels The Food Industry So You Can Reclaim Your Health - Meet Vani Hari

43m · Published 11 Jul 14:00

In this episode my guest, Vani Hari "The Food Babe" investigates and unravels the food industry.

Guest

Named as one of the “Most Influential People” on the Internet by Time Magazine, Vani Hari is the revolutionary food activist behind FoodBabe.com, co-founder of organic food brand Truvani, New York Times best selling author of Food Babe Kitchen, The Food Babe Way, and Feeding You Lies

For most of her life, Vani ate whatever she wanted—candy, soda, fast food, processed food—until her typical American diet landed her where that diet typically does, in a hospital. Despite her successful career in corporate consulting, Hari decided that health had to become a priority. Her newfound goal drove her to investigate what is really in our food, how it is grown and what chemicals are used in its production. The more she learned, the more she changed and the better she felt.

Encouraged by her friends and family, Hari started a blog called foodbabe.com in 2011. It quickly became a massive vehicle for change. She has led campaigns against food giants like Kraft, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Subway and General Mills that attracted more than 500,000 signatures and led to the removal of several controversial ingredients used by these companies. Through corporate activism, petitions, and social media campaigns, Hari and her Food Babe Army have become one of the most powerful populist forces in the health and food industries.

Her drive to change the food system inspired the creation of her new company called Truvani, where she produces real food without added chemicals, products without toxins, and labels without lies. Hari has been profiled in the New York Times and The Atlantic, and has appeared on Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, CNN, The Dr. Oz Show, The Doctors, and NPR. Vani lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband Finley and two children. Visit her online at: foodbabe.com

  • Her new cookbook, Food Babe Family will officially hit stores October 17, 2023.Instagram: @thefoodbabe

Profit Like A Boss! Learn How To Increase Your Influence, Income, and Build a Reputable Brand - Meet Heidi Cortez

35m · Published 06 Jun 12:30

In this episode, my guest Heidi Cortez, branding queen and I are discussing so many important topics!

Talking Points:

  • How to get press at no cost
  • How to stand out and get attention of journalists
  • How to go from no recognition to a public figure status
  • How to maximize your income 10X
  • How to look more powerful to your audience
  • How to make people open their DMs
  • How to stand out from your competitors

Guest

Heidi Cortez as a lifelong entrepreneur, which includes identifying gaps, opportunities, and projects with a plan, Heidi has made sure to reach timelines and milestones throughout her 20+ year career.

She understood at an adolescent age the importance of business and self-branding. She sold door-to-door as a child and was working full time at 13. By the age of 22 she was the sole business owner of one of Northern Nevada’s largest tanning salons. She lead a team of employees and passionately worked 12 hour days building the success of the salon while branding herself in the entertainment business.

Cortez grew up underprivileged in a small town. She fought hard to work and made herself a public figure over, and over, and over again in many different niches...without money, a manager, agent, or fancy connections.

Cortez is a self-taught writer who quickly gained interests with giant brands like SIRIUS Radio and Simon & Schuster. Cortez was hired by SIRIUS Radio in 2005, then soon published her first book with Simon & Schuster in 2006. Her book immediately hit the Barnes & Noble Best Sellers list. With the booming popularity, the book was published again by Simon & Schuster the next year in paperback.

Heidi's self-branding also included acting and modeling, which took off internationally in television and print. In 2008 Cortez was cast on the hit American reality television show Sunset Tan on the E! Network. She spent two seasons on the highly-rated television show, which skyrocketed her tanning salon business and entrepreneur success.

After many successful years of branding herself online and becoming one of the world's first "influencers" on Myspace, Cortez took her expertise to Instagram and started her first marketing & branding agency in 2013, You Need IG. www.YouNeedIg.com

With Miss Cortez’ expertise and background in business, marketing, writing, and the entertainment business, she found herself wanting to help others climb the ladder. Heidi wrote her second book titled, “For Somebody Who Knows Nobody” in 2012. In 2015 she discovered an unknown abstract artist who is "only" 5’3’', but Heidi saw the opportunity for her to become a large brand. Heidi's vision and working extensive managerial hours to make her an international superstar paid off for her client, Rachel Harris. Cortez created a brand for the soon-to-be model in only a few short months, changing the life of the aspiring artist forever, who has now been featured in countless publications, radio & television .

Cortez has helped her clients book jobs with Guess Jeans, Allure Magazine, Power Rangers, Playboy, FOX Sports and many more. In Sept 2017 Cortez launched The Model Adviser, an online advising & coaching program for kids and adults of all ages.

To learn more about The Model Adviser, click here: www.TheModelAdviser.com

Currently Cortez lives in Beverly Hills, California coaching, advising, mentoring, and doing marketing for a variety of brands and businesses including entrepreneurs, plastic surgeons, celebrities, realtors, and many more. To learn more about her 1:1 coaching, click here: https://www.heidicortez.com/1-1-coaching

In 2020 when Covid-19 hit and most businesses were forced to shut down or curtail their activities which led to much suffering through no fault of their own - Heidi and her team thought of a way they could help out and give back. The Three Dollar marketing Club was the answer they came up with.

Join the $3 Marketing Club today! www.3DollarMarketingClub.com

In late 2021 Cortez launched www.PoshBossLA.com :Affordable clothing for female entrepreneurs, hustlers & go-getters.

In 2022 Heidi's popularity to help others with their brands grew beyond what she could personally handle, but still wanted to continue to share with others a gateway to successful branding, social media verification, and making money online. She wrote her fourth book, Get Verified and Profit Like A Boss. Which is currently available for download here: www.heidicortez.com/getverifiedbook
