The Vision With Nathan Collins

How exactly do you find a mission for your brand? A lot of people struggle with getting started on this, so follow these simple steps!

Notes:

1: WRITE your story! Why does your brand exist? What problem(s) do you want your brand to solve? - BE PHYSICAL WITH YOUR DREAM BEFORE IT'S PHYSICALLY TANGIBLE.-

2: Determine your core values. Brand mission should reflect your core values and who you are as brand. Figure out WHO you are and WHAT your brand does to thoroughly accomplish this.

3: WRITE DOWN your vision. Where do you want to be? Where should your mission statement be focused?

4: Check your consistency between your story, core values, vision, and mission. If consistency isn't there, then your goals will be completely out of whack.

5: Make sure your vision and core values SCREAM your passion about your brand. This will translate into your overall mission.

6: Look at it from an exterior point of view. Public perception is IMPORTANT! Make sure people outside of your brand can understand your mission CLEARLY.

7: DISPLAY IT. Put it up for you to see your mission every day! If you don't remind yourself of a new mission statement, you won't follow it. If you don't follow it, your employees, team members, and customers won't follow it or believe in it.

Your brand must have a mission statement to focus in on your brands purpose.

Your mission statement establishes the guidelines of accomplishing your overall vision. Without a mission, you have ZERO guidance on where you and your brand are going.

Notes:

Why do you need a mission statement? To prevent misdirection, confusion, and lack of guidance. Everyone involved in your brand, business, or organization will be confused without a mission statement. A mission statement will guide everyone on the path of YOUR vision.

People WILL begin fulfilling their own mission within your brand if you fail to create a mission! This leads to mass confusion in your customer base and in your employees/team members.

In the last episode, we mentioned having a vision board. Vision boards are POWERFUL tools that allow you to visualize your future before it's even here. When you visualize your goals, your mind becomes more motivated every time you see them.

Your thoughts precede your behavior. Your mindset drives behavior. Your behavior drives your outcome. Seeing your vision board is so powerful because it is a literal guide to your vision.

These key points play a major roll in what the outcome of your vision is. Bullying gives your vision a bad look. Being a "yes man" drains your time and energy away from your vision. Being fake will make your vision inauthentic.
