D’Shonda started out from humble beginnings in Brooklyn, NY where she was engulfed in the arts, culture and community. The goal of her company is to promote an understanding and highlight positive representations of millennial artists of color in music, entertainment and lifestyle brands. D’Shonda also has her own blog called, “Signed, Shonda,” and she’s a freelance writer for publications including Blavity, XO Necole and Hello Beautiful. In 2019, she became Mental Health First Aid Certified for adults and children, and graduated from the Advocacy Ambassador Program by National Alliance on Mental Illness. She says, she wants people to think of her as “the bestie that they feel like they have when they can’t talk to other people.”
