Reality Check Leadership

My fantastic guests for the week are Eduardo Ribeiro and Angela Barroso. It will be a one hour session where we'll talk about "leading people in an Agile world"!

Both my guests are incredible communicators, they have a fabulous positive energy and vibe and love their work as Agile coaches. I'm sure we'll have plenty to discuss and a lot of value to share with you.

This week our incredible Reality Check Leadership podcast guest is Diogo Cunha.

I have “met” Diogo while watching the biggest reality show in Portugal, Big Brother, and I was impressed with his ability as a contestant to challenge the norm of those type of competition.

As a remote worker by nature, he shared with us a negative leadership example of a former leader that led the team using a negative pressure and a positive example of a clothes retail shop leader that led using trust and delegation.

We have discussed Big Brother, remote work, leadership and much more!

This week our incredible Reality Check Leadership podcast guest is Beatriz Madureira, and happiness at work is the key ingredient this episode!

We have met on Linkedin, crossing comments and it was clear to me that she had a fantastic and positive energy.

With 19 years of experience in people management and as a lawyer, she works currently as Happiness at Work Strategist, pretty involved in themes as Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, Effective Communication, amongst others.

Beatriz shared a couple of negative examples on bad leadership of the past, mostly about the lack of sensitivity and respect for her personal life, and another fantastic examples of a leader that during heavy work hours was always there with the team, leading by example.

This week our incredible Reality Check Leadership podcast guest is Hans Snel and this is an episode full of great practical tools for leaders out there.

I’ve worked together with Hans for a couple of years while we were building a customer success practice and team in Lisbon. Besides his strategical mindset Hans always brought to the conversation a ton of knowledge, experience, and passion on topics as coaching, personal development, and leadership. I had to invite him as my guest!

On this episode you will learn his approach on how to better understand people, understand the way we learn, what are our team’s strengths and how to use this knowledge to push motivation and growth.

I cannot believe this is the 18th episode already and I am happy to share that this time I have once again another fantastic communicator and guest.

Born and raised in Lisbon, with a fantastic smile and positive energy, Marta is People and Culture Partner @Salsify, a software company focused on empowering brand manufacturers to win on the digital shelf.

Passioned by people management, recruitment and people related topics, she shared a negative leadership example around micromanagement, something very characteristic to a lot of leaders out there. On a positive leadership example, she shared an incredible story of a successful restructuring of a company done by a leader who was able to do this difficult task but bringing people onboard, listening and always taking people as a top priority.

We have shared paths a couple of years ago and the first time I saw Ton he was on stage giving an incredible inspiring keynote about ERPs future!!! (normally a not so exciting theme on a keynote format!). Well, guess what… Ton made it exciting and he definitively inspired me to look to that business in a different way. We kept in touch ever since.

Passioned by business he dedicates his life in helping software businesses and their leaders to create remarkable products while working on the transformative ways to get there.

We had a really cool conversation about leadership and the effects of positive and negative leadership on teams and businesses. We also took the opportunity to share our common thoughts about @Jose Duarte, CEO of Infovista who has been for me one of the most inspirational leaders I’ve ever worked with!!

We quickly found a lot of things in common during our conversation that was really an easy going and happy chat!

On a negative leadership example, she shared the typical and unfortunate micro-management style that some leaders continue to demonstrate, while on a positive note, she shared with us a positive story about her actual leader and his relentless challenge, motivation and empowerment to his team that drive so much passion and energy.

This week I am thrilled to share with you that we have a very special episode on the Reality Check Leadership podcast.

This one is a long one and it could not be in any other way as my incredible guest is Lerio Cunha! Lerio is someone I was fortunate enough to meet via Linkedin and that had the generosity to accept my challenge for an episode that we’ve agreed to be dedicated to vulnerability in leadership.

During our one hour conversation we drove the conversation from a couple of clips from the fantastic Brené Brown, and from there, we just let the conversation flow…

Lerio is an incredible human being, humble, generous, a fantastic communicator that has a way to share stories that quickly entangle and captivate you and you just want to hear more…
