Hunting For Your True Self with Mike Van Pelt

1h 1m · Published 17 May 12:00

What creates a comeback story? We’ve all heard them; in fact, we gravitate to them. Whether it is a recovery from a deadly disease, an athlete coming back from a severe injury, a story about someone overcoming all the odds to achieve success, we all want to hear the story. We want to learn, be inspired, and root for the underdog. What causes one person to come back from the depths of despair, while another person lives a life of quiet desperation? Why do some people achieve great success after tremendous loss, while others are willing to walk away defeated?

I’ve wondered about these questions for much of my life. I’ve seen many motivational videos, movies, speeches, and more, but the lingering question for me has always been what was the turning point for that person that changed everything? The answers vary from one person’s story to the next because every situation is different. If comeback stories are so inspirational, why do they seem hard to achieve sometimes? The answer to that question seems to lie in the mystery of what that critical turning point is for each individual. I believe that’s what makes the comeback so special.

Imparting Values and Business Skills to Your Kids with Jordan Ostroff

44m · Published 03 May 14:00

Jordan Ostroff is a visionary entrepreneur, President of LegalEase Marketing, Managing Partner of Jordan Law Fl, Host of multiple facebook live show and the Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida.

From a young age, he knew that he wanted to be a lawyer - even when he had no idea what that meant. During college, he began competing in trial competitions across the country, where he was an award winning advocate for fictitious cases.

After law school, he started his legal career as a Prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office. There he cut his teeth in the trenches and learned how to truly be a “real” lawyer.

Today, he manages Jordan Law FL, a firm focused on personal injury and helping injured victims get the recoveries they deserve. His firm utilizes the latest technology and automation to provide top level legal work, with a low volume of cases but a high touch level of care and compassion. The son of a postal employee and a substitute teacher, he is the first lawyer in his family, and with no business experience his first few years of running a firm were incredibly difficult.

He was consistently taken advantage of by other marketing companies, because he didn’t get it and didn’t know what to ask for or what to look for. Having been faced with the prospect of learning how to run a successful business or close his firm and file for bankruptcy, he choose the later. Now Jordan works 3 days a week, usually 20-25 hour each week.

This new path culminated in Jordan starting LegalEase Marketing, a holistic lawyer focused fractional CMO company. Part full service marketing company, part consulting firm - Jordan shares all of the info that he wish he knew when he started his firm and focuses on helping other lawyers not make the 1,000,000s of mistakes he’s made. LegalEase prides itself on treating its clients the same way those lawyers treat their clients - they come first, they own their "file," no conflicts of interest, etc.

Additionally, Jordan is the host of Exhibit A(ttorneys) a live show where he interviews lawyers and experts on how to build the best lawfirms and be happy as a lawyer. He also hosts The O Know Show, where he interviews people about the cool things going on in Central Florida, as well as the Chair of his local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter a non-profit that pairs hundreds of underserved children with professionals who mentor them for most of their lives and help them achieve success.

56m · Published 22 Apr 15:00

Host of Top 100 Global Podcast "Next Level University" - 700+ Episodes, Listeners In Over 100 Countries.

Some people find rock bottom... I found out that rock bottom has a basement.

In my mid 20's... I had it all. A beautiful girlfriend, a high paying job, a sports car, my dream body... but I still ended up sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide... several times.

After my rock bottom moment, I went all in on self improvement, I was determined to overcome my anxiety, to overcome my depression.

Years later, I host a podcast with hundreds of thousands of downloads in over a hundred countries, I've grown the podcast into a multi six-figure business and I've recorded over 700 episodes. I've given nearly 100 speeches and had the opportunity to do hundreds of coaching calls.

The main thing that changed was ME. I focused on learning what I didn't know (and unlearning a lot too) and my life started to shift.

It's my purpose to help other people get unstuck and get to the next level of their lives!

How Art Saved My Life With Michael Cariglio

51m · Published 21 Apr 19:00

On this episode of Uncensored Advice For Men we have a conversation with Michael Cariglio to share his journey from war and destruction to a life of creativity and life.

A bit about PappyLand
Pappy Drewitt (portrayed by Michael Cariglio) is an artist and host of the series who loves to draw, He was dressed in a hat, suspenders, glasses, a green bandana, yellow shirt, and khaki pants; similar to the appearance of a forty-niner. The theme song suggests that he created Pappyland; although the season 5 episode "Grandpappy's Day for Drawing", which aired in 1997, suggests that Pappy's father or possibly Grandfather, Grandpappy Drewitt who was also played by Cariglio created Pappyland rather than Pappy himself. He lives in Pappyland and has many friends who live there. A running gag in the series was that whenever he coloured the picture he drew earlier in the episode, he would break one of his crayons. This was done so Pappy could teach kids that you don't have to throw away a crayon just because it breaks. On occasion, when he colored in the picture, he also went outside the lines, thus teaching kids that it's all right to go outside the lines when coloring. In the original VHS, he was portrayed as a hillbilly. To get to various places in Pappyland, Pappy makes use of different modes of transportation like the Pappy Pad Express, the Much More Door, the Wishing Wheel, the Pappyscope, and the Color Copter.
