This week I had a lovely conversation with Bridie Kirsopp. Bridie is a social media evaluator, freelance writer and online content creator/blogger. She has worked with several brand and companies including the NHS. Bridie has a passion for defending the rights of marginalised communities. As a stroke survivor, she uses her platform to shine a light on issues associated with chronic illness.

On this episode, we discuss wellbeing tips, underrepresentation of certain groups within the creative industry. We also talk about Bridie's creative journey, navigating life and influencer industry in her own way.

This week I had a lovely conversation with author Jenica Leah. Jenica Leah is an industry expert speaker for sickle cell. She has won multiple awards for her children’s book series My Friend Jen and Sickle Cell health and lifestyle blog ‘Me, Myself and Sickle Cell’.

Jenica is also a youth mentor and publishing coach at JLG Publishing. JLG publishing aims to inspire new writers to bring their stories to print.

In this episode, we discuss Jenica’s journey from the fashion industry to being self-employed. Her vision to reach young individuals and support aspiring authors. Jenica speaks on the need to raise awareness and demystify misconceptions surrounding Sickle Cell. Jenica also offers some great advice for business owners and creatives.

A few months ago, I connected with Haleema Ali at the Uprising leadership graduation event. Haleema Ali is a social and political activist, inspiring social change through events, art and workshops.Haleema is also a youth worker, mentor and teacher, helping young people from underrepresented backgrounds to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Indeed, she is making a great impact on the lives of young people in your community specifically Luton and wider. As an educator, Haleema serves her community through mentoring and guiding young people to follow suitable career paths and facilitating the expression of self and cultural identity through art.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of exemplary leadership and role models, especially for young people. During this interview Haleema highlighted the importance of speaking truth to power, using art or a platform to influence change We also touched on how creating for social action can highlight and help to address key issues the youth of today face.

As an educator, Haleema serves her community through mentoring and guiding young people to follow suitable career paths and facilitating the expression of self and cultural identity through art. In this episode, we discuss the importance of exemplary leadership and role models, especially for young people.
